Canada, eh? I was just in Edmonton about a month ago and really enjoyed it. I still got made fun of from my accent, though. I'm from Minnesota so every time I go south they ask if I'm from Canada, then when I'm in Canada they're like, "You're from the south!!" I just don't fit in anywhere. :(

:D

Haha, well at least the weather is similar between Edmonton and Minnesota (I think). I work in Vancouver (and I'm from here) - it's pretty nice, but man, there are days I'd love to be at our head office in San Diego :(.

I really don't like your kind sometimes. I hope that as someone who used to be in construction you aren't as dense as some your fellow QAs and PEs are.

Neato, what asset classes? You might be playing against me pretty soon...

Equity derivatives (market making) mostly, not sure what desk I'll be on yet though.

What asset classes are you involved with/do you trade? Or are you more research focused? I got a chance to get involved with one quant project over the summer. They write stuff in OCaml, which was pretty cool.

Get outside more often. To make a blanket statement such as that is quite ignorant. :\

I base this on experience! I registered for a biomedical engineering class on accident...not one single girl in there!

I'm just joking tho, my friend's sister is a civil engineer

Yeah the classes getting the degree become more and more full of men as you advance till you're the only girl or 1 of 2. It's hard sometimes to get people to take you seriously especially if you don't look like engineering material but it's something you get used to.

Operations Analyst. It falls under what they call "workforce managment" here, but basically it is a excel monkey who provides reports on anything and everything related to the workforce. From how productive they are to how many times they take a break to wipe their ass.
