Whats your IQ?

IQ is a measure of capacity to learn and the ability to reconfigure your 'learning algorithms' on the fly to solve problems. IQ is not what you know or think you know, it has nothing to do with knowledge. This is why I discount tests that claim to measure IQ when they present questions that rely on prior knowledge.

I was tested by the school psychologist at 187 in 7th grade and I?ve topped out most of the online ones at 140 (max testable).

As for right or left brain... I couldn't make more than a cube in 3D Studio but I can make it very shiny and sparkly in D3D or OGL... so I guess left brain.

I don't want to take another test because I find it pointless.

Amen to that. IQ doesn't measure success or happiness at all. It is a totally pointless test because it only measures certain types of intelligence.

Yup, I don't know of any single test that can accurately and fairly measure the IQ of both a mathematician and an artist.

Actually, I was 147 mensa in high school, but I brained my damage between now and then, so I am sure it is a lot lower.

143 when I was 16, took it at the college I was attending. Calc 4 is usually a combined linear algebra/differential equations class, at least it was when I took it. I don't know if IQ means all that much though, it is simply your capacity to learn, not how smart you are. I finshed Calc 1,2,3,4, Ochem I and II, before I was 18, but that certainly doesn't make me smart. On the contrary, two good years I could have been drinking!

ASVAB...Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery... That is not an IQ Test. It is designed to what aptitude(skill and knowledge or interest) you have in different areas of technology and educational disciplines for placement in job classifications. They restrict the MOS's you are offered according to the areas in which you show potential skills(ie, someone who is mechanically uninclined and lacks intelligence, education or initiative would only be offered 11-B...bushbeater-grunt-footsoldier).

BTW high 130's to 140. I can't be in mensa due to being in a local government position. It is considered a stagnant social and mental role and an automatic disqualification.

Edit: I have a question though, I have almost never studied for school, 2 years of college studying for my BME and get straight As, does that meen something?

Yes, too much time under the teacher's desk. 🙂
Tas.

i voted "150 and over (please post score)" just for the fun of it

i have no idea what mine is, surely it is very close to 100 based on my wasting so much time on OT

good one dude

I was 148 in 9th grade and placed in the Enrichment Program. I pissed away all the opportunities available to me, got involved with drugs, booze and women and I am now in a dead-end job with two kids and a dim future. I couldn't care less about IQ tests.

If you're not sure about your IQ try this page to correlate SAT and GRE scores with IQ. A perfect score on the GRE is a 164 IQ. There sure are a lot of smarty-pants at ATOT.

Mine's probably about 125-130. I couldn't care less so I haven't taken an official test. I'm intelligent enough to get through college and that's good enough for me.

I don't think you can make a correlation between what you got on the SAT's and what your IQ score is. The sat is a test that you can practice and become good at. I don't think you can do that with IQ tests.

What does it get your to be a member of Mensa, and how do you join? Does it measure knowledge or just IQ?
