PSA: RESOLUTIONS = GOALS IN H&F
I was pondering my 2010 New Year's Resolutions today and thought it would make a good thread. I pretty much bombed my 2009 resolutions, so I figured I'd try again this year
I've learned that one aspect of myself is that I need really detailed plans if I'm going to make things happen long-term; that is, setting a goal and knowing what to do isn't good enough, I need a written plan broken down into day-by-day activities that I can follow if I'm not going to quit after a week. Otherwise my motivation just kind of dwindles.
Kaido's 2010 H&F Resolutions:
1. No sugar for a year
2. Complete my pushup program
3. Go Vegan for 3 months
I'm pretty much a sugarholic, so I'd like to try going off sugar for a year. Benefits being: improved skin, lower weight, better health, more money. Exceptions are my birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. This will be an easy one because my wife signed up for this too, so I have a "buddy" to keep me in check (i.e. not let me keep crap in the house). She's not a sweettooth like me, so this should go well. Next I'd like to complete my pushup program, which is a progressive plan that culminates in 210 pushups a day. Takes about 9 months, then you just stay with it for the rest of your life. My dad does it and he's a pretty fit guy! Finally I'd like to go Vegan for 3 months. Nothing against animals, just interested in doing it for the energy aspect. I've experimented with Vegan food over the past 2 years and have found that it gives me a lot of energy. I got a pretty good book called "The Thrive Diet" that has a 3-month rotating Vegan meal plan by tri-athelete Brendan Brazier, so I already have a pre-made plan to follow. I'm keeping it simple and realistic this year. I'll also keep up my current meal plan (7 small meals a day).
How bout you?
