Dumb statement. They have hated us for years. The weak always hate strength because they fear it. They fear it because they see how it has been used throughout history and imagine how they would use it. Politicians are people who love power; the ultimate power is over life and death. People who lust for power have to get it from the people they have power over. It can't be taken, but has to be yielded. Most people would be quick to point out that they hate our government, not us. Tne current hate by muslims has been going on toward people for hundreds of years. That hate is taught to them by people who lust after power and who know they can't have it as long as we stand. They really hate us because they see us as either christian or jewish - not understanding that we are all or neither. Most of the peoples who are now terrorist were with Germany in WWII. European historians say that the hatred of the west by the middle east goes back to the failure to take Vienna.

The French just hate everyone else!

Most of them love us more when we are weak and they don't fear us.

Another issue that is a streatch is that the middle east must know that oil will only be king for another 30 to 50 years. They have nothing else to offer. They know that they won't be able to afford Mercedes and Toyotas then, can't build them and won't be able to feed themselves. One of the important things they don't seem to grasp is contraception. If they don't have oil, how will they feed the population?

Total propoganda.

They don't hate us for our freedoms. They hate us because we are trying to take thier freedoms.

they, don't hate us for our freedoms, or because we guarantee women the "right" to an abortion, or because Queer Eye for the Straight Guy was such a big hit, but because of our policies in the Middle East and elsewhere, which they see as a war aimed at the eradication of Islam. In this context, as Scheuer puts it:

"The military actions of al-Qaeda and its allies are acts of war, not terrorism; they are part of a defensive jihad sanctioned by the revealed word of God, as contained in the Koran, and the sayings and traditions of the Prophet Mohammed, the Sunnah. These attacks are meant to advance bin Laden's clear, focused, limited, and widely popular foreign policy goals."

Scheuer goes on to list instances in which American foreign policy has resulted in oppression, economic exploitation, and mass death for millions of Muslims from Morocco to Malaysia:

U.S. support for Israel that keeps Palestinians in the Israelis' thrall

U.S and other Western troops on the Arabian peninsula

U.S. occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan

U.S. support for Russia, India, and China against their Muslim militants

U.S. pressure on Arab energy producers to keep oil prices low

U.S. support for apostate, corrupt, and often tyrannical Muslim governments

Michael Scheuer Or better yet just ask a Muslim sometime instead of judging thier "feeling"

I guess the think that really got me going about how conservative America hates the same America as particularly as the middle east is in our freedoms. We keep religion and government separate. The right winged Christians and the Taliban hate that. They both hate Hollywood and liberal ideas. They both think gays are evil. I mean the comparisons are as obvious as the hypocrisy that makes these two groups think that they are different. But they really both hate America. I mean they wouldn't respectively if the country were all Christian or all Muslim but America ain't so they hate what makes America America. What a terrible shame. And unlike Americans with liberal tolerance, they hate what they don't respect. They have to cause it's evil.

Moonbeam, it surprises me that you'd troll like that. To say that conservative America hates the freedoms and ideals of America and compare them with the Taliban serves what rational purpose? I consider myself conservative... am I like that?

I don't know moonie. the Chiristan right has learned to compromise with the secular state. Basically they take thier religion half way and more metaphoical.. Muslims OTOH, see scripture as law and are really unwilling to compromise with the modern world. They would rather die than do so (hence WTC and "martyrs" everyday in Iraq)...

There a cultural war going on (the christain right lost thiers BTW) not terrorism.

Chess9 wanted big mirrors. But I knew that it ain't always the size of the mirror that counts, but whether anybody will look in one......

Are you like that? I have no idea. My little thread is only here to make members think. So far you are the only conservative that has even asked the question. Most are like Allsurmise and his three cookies, wouldn't even dream of considering the possibility. What do you think? Are you like that?

What I think is that we are all the same differing maybe in how much we realize that.

I'm hearing here the notion that it's the Muslims that have real faith. I think there is segment of right winged Christians that are also less and less willing to compromise as their power grows.

Anyway I saw Ann Coulter on TV tonight and thought I'd let conservative know they are traitors. :D

I absolutely LOVE Ann Coulter! I was checking out her new book tonight. Chapter 1 starts with something to the effect of "Converting a liberal usually consists of convincing them to move out of their parents' basement, get a job, and start paying taxes." :)

Yeah, I know, she hates America, one of the most liberal nations in the World. She's a traitor but she's smart cause it's only about making money.

To know how uninformed you are, look at this line: "U.S. support for Israel that keeps Palestinians in the Israelis' thrall" The Palistinians sided with the Nazis during WWII in the attempt to exterminate the Jews. Once the Germans were defeated, the Jews were given the area they now occupy. Once again, America supports the underdog. If the other Muslims were serious about a state for Palistine, they would be forthcoming with something for them other than hate.

Bascially we are worse off than the rats cause we feel somethings fusked but the majority don't know how to fix it.

One of the differences between them and us is that we understand contraception. By now, if a nation doesn't understand contraception, what hope should they have? The whole time I was in Europe, I watched peoples who didn't understand contraception saying things like "British women are sterile". That meant to me that not only don't they understand it, they aren't even aware of the concept of population control.

My slogan: If I wasn't there for the conception, I don't want to be there for the raising.

Thier mistake is the worst of all - fornication without responsibility - Hey! They must all be Clinton.

Should'nt that bitch be in a kitchen somewhere? :D

Yup america, were you can afford to be conservative.. After you used public education, FHA mortgages, a liberal money supply to make your way then you turn on the very foundation that gave all to you. I love it.

The world is really divided into to basic groups. People that want and need freedom, and those that want to control. Most people want to be able to make a choice, but a few would rather have someone tell them what to do and when to do it. Freedom allows us to make wrong decisions, express our opinions, or do nothing. Not all of them are extremist; many are just ignorant because they lack the freedom to find out the truth.

The control people want to keep people ignorant so they are unable to determine the truth, like lowering standards in school to improve self-esteem. The kids feel better because a 40% in reading is passing. They are unable to read or comprehend but they are told they have the right to vote. How can the make an educated decision if they are unable to read the issues? They can't.
