Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but NVIDIA's "hard launch" of the 7900's appears be a lot like the 7800GTX 512 launch were there is availability on day 1, but not much after that. Just about every (r)etailer is out of stock. Is this just due to abnormally high demand, or is due to a lack of supply in real quantities. For comparison, I don't think I've ever seen all the X1900XT(T)'s sold out anywhere since they launched.
...yeah, yeah, I know I already got one, but that was just luck on my part. I happen to have Monday off from work, and I decided to see what Monarch had in stock at their retail showroom. They only had very few of the non-OC'ed eVGA 7900GTXes (no XFX available at all) and only the very mildly OC'ed (overpriced) BFG 7900GT's in stock, all the other GT's were sold out. A buddy of mine just signed up for a step-up through eVGA from a 7800GT to a 7900GT CO, and apparently eVGA won't have a card for him for 4-8 weeks.
