Half-Life 2...In ravenholm. I remember how hard my chest would start to beat as soon as I heard the poison headcrabs...or how much I screamed, turning around to watch a rush of zombies coming towards me.

Some really old game on the Sega Saturn where the setting was some spaceship. You had to battle against these creatures you couldn't see and the only way you knew they were close to you was through some blip. Scary cause you don't know what direction.

Aside from some jump surprises Ravenholm didn't affect me that badly. I went through very slowly, nervous enough to be so careful I eliminated most of the monsters before they were threats.

The doom 3 demo got to me, though, damn that is an atmospheric game.

Fatal Frame, holy christ when the woman's ghost is searching for her dead baby, you can't help but be terrified.

I thought it would be a corny and retarded game, but Fatal Frames is easily the scariest game I've ever played, and ever will play. I only played it for an hour and I never touched it again. I just couldn't do it.

why was it so scary?

7th Guest - Easy

I still get creaped out by the sounds of the crying children when you'd go through the mansion nursery.

doom3 scared me enough to sell the game and i've never returned it since lol
quake4 is making me jump equally, but isn't adding the 'scare' effect

F.E.A.R. got me scared a lot, but i was able to play through. maybe cuz i knew it'd be worth it?
and Ravenholm in HL2 definitly had me goin. it made me quit for awhile, i recently got back into it, and am glad I did. great game, shame i ever put it down.

Medal of Honor (the first one; SP)

I had a Calc test in the morning and I told myself that beating hte game before the test would help me aces the test( WTF was I smoking 😕 )

Anyways, during those laste levels, everyt little german guy scared the sh!t out of me...mostly because 6am rolled around and I didn't know how much playing I had left😱 (the test was at 8am)

anyways, I finished the game in time for hte test😀

and failed the test..I mean BOMBED IT:laugh: 😱

I feel guilt now🙁

Some game for Sega CD. I was like 6 at the time. I remember having to dis-arm a bomb and it being so suspenseful. Since then, no games have been "scary"

Doom3 was crap. The only thing that game served up was monsters jumping out of corridors you were JUST IN simply because your back was turned and it was a good opportunity. After the fourth or fifth time it just got annoying.

Games like F.E.A.R. and System Shock 2 actually served up suspense by the bucketload without resorting to just trying to startle you every 30 seconds. Definitly agree that HL2 Ravenholm did a good job too. Undying had some moments and FarCry really had me going in some of the areas where you're mostly fighting the ape mutants, though especially when you're outside and you have no clue which direction they're coming from until you can hear them.

HALO. The Library, with the Flood... I was scared more than I was by my 9th grade math teacher (and she was SCARY).

Yeah, the repetitive gameplay in that level just about gave me a heart attack.

I've never played Fear, but I'll put one in for ClockTower for the PS.

Ha! I just finished up playing Clock Tower for the first time couple days ago.

But it was nothing compared to the original Silent Hill. And then years ago there was Phantasmagoria - those cut scenes were nuts.

Have heard things about fear - but I just don't have the massive super-computer to play it on.

Resident Evil 2. I think Code Veronica might have been scarier if it was the first one I had played and I was a little younger. I pretty much knew what to expect after playing through RE 1-3.
