Man, now I really want to grab a Papa Murphy's on the way home.

Wow, I've never had that experience. Whenever I call ahead, my pizza is already sitting on a shelf waiting for me. Of course, I always call when I'm maybe 5-10 minutes away.
I think if I found myself waiting 80 minutes, I'd likely be standing on the counter, yelling and screaming.

I'm not sure if it's been quoted already (i looked but so many nested quotes in this thread)

From the wikipedia article
An extreme example of anti-necktie sentiment is found in Iran, whose theocratic rulers have denounced the accessory as a decadent symbol of Western oppression. In the late 1970s (at the time of the Islamic Revolution) members of the US press even metonymized Iran's hardliners as turbans and its moderates as neckties. To date, most Iranian men have retained the Western-style long-sleeved collared shirt and three-piece suit, while excluding the necktie.[citation needed]

Wear your necktie if you love America and together we united through necktie can show Iran!

BLAAAH for ties! I had to wear one to an interview the other day, I've only wore them to interviews and haven't had many. So there I was on youtube watching a video how to die it, I didn't have a lot of time to practice so it came out less than perfect.

I hate ties!

I bought a nice, fancy shirt with one of those preacher-style collars (I forget what they're called) to get around the tie-wearing :p

The tie is a social construct designed to enable the wearer to state that their own comfort is less important to them than the outward appearance they project, and that they will have lived hours, possibly even days less of their life because of time spent picking and tying ties.
I wonder how many hours & days they spend counting how much more money they make...

thats a bad arguement because there are plenty of people that make tons of money who do not ever have to wear a suit and tie
oh i know, i was just neffing :p

I'm glad my workplace is business casual. Now the only thing I use my ties for is to ocassionally bind my gf to the bed.

She seems to enjoy that. Prefers it over rope.

Ties are effectively BABY bibs for corporate cock suckers to wipe their chins on.
i just heard a buzzer - is it time for you to flip the burgers? >:)

Come on meltdown, I expect better from you.

I agree with waffleironhead, and I work in IT. Ties are lame as hell.

maybe in IT. but formal dress is big in engineering. people like it when someone properly dressed gives them a plan that could cost bazillion dollars.

Christ, am I the only person here that actually LIKES to wear this shit?

No. I do brother.

KT

Of course, there's also guys in the world who like nothing more than having their genitals stepped on by a woman wearing high heels ;)

Yeah, he's the non-tie wearing bastard on the 20th floor. He creeps me out.

KT
i don't think the tie is your problem here. its the tuxedo.

Alright KT, put on a tuxedo/suit, with tie, get on stage surrounded by ~100 other people, under hot stage lights, and sing for an hour without sitting. You will lose your affection for ties very quickly... :D
