When I lived in Queens, you didn't want to be anywhere near Far Rockaway unless you were past 110st. Anything lower and your pushing your luck.

Now I live upstate and have beautiful slums like South Troy, Amsterico and certain parts of Albany.

The Cut, aka Africa.

It's the poorest neighborhood in our city, wedged between the port and the refineries.

not from my area, but Vine Street (Over-the-Rhine) in Cincinnatti, is the absolute worst street/area I have ever been too. If you have ever seen the movie "Traffic," thats where they filmed the drug scenes. Also, that is where the Cincy race riots started.

Scotlandville, LA (North of Baton Rouge).

There are some places near LSU that I wouldn't want to go through, either...

Yeah, North O is pretty rough. I don't even like driving around there. Don't forget the occasional body they pull out of Carter Lake. It's a shame, as there's some fantastic old houses in that area.
South Omaha has a bit of hispanic gang activity as well. The street I used to live on usually had a few shootings per year (a block away from the elementary school, too :()

and yes, all over here (and in bellvue) there are gangs or whatever... omaha is relaly only safe in downtown or the old market if you ask me.

edit: on another note, there are areas of LA you do not want to be in (south-central)

MLK = Martin Luther King

In Oakland, CA MLK is pretty ghetto, it's a long street so not all of it is that bad.

I used to live downtown, too (26th and Farnam, right behind channel 7's building) and other than the wandering crackheads, homeless folks, and hookers, it was actually alright. It was mostly filled with low income people who wanted to be left alone or just hang out. It looks like they're trying to renovate it and get rid of those unsavory elements too.
Oh yeah, West O is still fine, AFAIK.

Closest would be El Monte, but if you're talking about the County of Los Angeles, it would have be South Central.

edit: Baldwin/Highland Park are also quite ghetto. But I would have to drive through a few cities to get there.

Within a stones throw of MaxDepth's crib.

Domino's won't even deliver after dark there.

10 murders, oddest thing is they are having CHP officers patrol the streets. Richmond area is scary indeed. MLK is not too bad, I'd say International in O-town is far worse.

I live in Berkeley so you can take your pick of the less affluent areas that are around me: East Oakland, Richmond, El Cerrito. But, you find patches that are not so bad like Emeryville, West Oakland, most of Berkeley due to student inhabitation.

Exactly right. You go from downtown to sh!ttown in one city block. Amazing how quickly it changes from safely downtown to you-are-gambling.
