i always seem to get let off with speeding charges...

(all in km/h)

74 in a 50 -- ticket for 'failure to update address information'
118 in an 80 -- STEP (traffic school)
95 in an 80 passing a cop -- 'if there was a stamp that said "stupid" i'd put it on your licence'
72 in a 50 -- reduced to 60, no points
129 in a 100 -- reduced to 110, no points

there are others that are non-speeding related

Where exactly is there a zone where 100 is the max speed limit?

I've only been pulled over once, and it was for beeping at an undercover cop (it was an accident, I didn't know it was a cop anyway).

I don't think I've ever done much more than like 85 in a 65, and I only did that when I had to show up at work at 4:30am and was running late.
I went to high school with a guy who got pulled over doing 95 in a 65 about 2 weeks after getting his license. Luckily for him, his dad is the fire chief of his town and his aunt is a cop. The cop let him go and told him that he was going to let his aunt know what he was doing.

I was going 210 in a 25 zone in my Bugatti when a cop pulled me over. He then proceeded to let me off with just a warning.

Stopped and ticketed: 94 mph in a 100 kph zone in Canada trying to keep up with the Canadian guy in front of me because he knew where we were going and I didn't. RCMP was not amused.

I haven't been above 80 since then (East of Seattle the speed limit on I-90 is 70mph).

Fastest ever, 140 mph and still pulling hard on a track.

I gotta ask: where does the RCMP make traffic stops? Do you mean the OPP or some other provincial police force? thanks

Western canada doesn't have provincial forces like the OPP. RCMP takes care of all rural stuff... from violent crime to traffic violations.
Wow you'd think I'd know that, having been to Alberta twice... to tell you the truth, I can't remember seeing any cops while I was out there! :)

ah... I'd love to breathe some of that Jasper air right now...

I seem to have an uncanny knack for avoiding speeding tickets, despite how often, and how severly, I tend to speed whenever I'm not in Alaska. I have not been ticketed (or pulled over and let go) in over seven years. THe highest I was ever clocked at was a paltry 93 in a 65.

Last month alone I was getting familiar with a new car I bought in So Cal, and I spent an awful lot of time above 120+, and had a few sprints up to 150+. I figure I can't do this once that car arrives in Alaska next month, so I was just getting it out of my system while I still could! No tickets either :p

79 in a 35. onramp by the panther stadium in florida (if anyone knows it) to 75, there's a curve and it changes to 65. i used to hit that curve hard and see how i fast i could go before merging when i had my boxster S, i'd hit 120'ish usually and back down before i merged (if there was no traffic of course).

one morning there was a speed trap up on the corner of the turn with about 4 other cars pulled over. got the ticket thrown out by a ticket lawyer.

I wasn't clocked, but the fastest sustained traffic flow I was ever in was on the interstate on my way to Omaha, NB... I was doing 160km/h, passing in the left lane, and there was a transport on my ass!! traffic was solid too. that had to be one of the longest stretches of straight highway I can recall driving.

i know it's not fast but i thought it was pretty fast considering i was just trying to keep up. you people have some seriously heavy feet down there :p

230kmph in a 70kmph bit of road at night heading eastward across Hong Kong island in a E46 M3.

The various speeding tickets I HAVE received have all been 110-120 in a 100 zone.

I'm more than happy not to win this contest. Worst I've been cited for is 75 in a 55 zone.

Worst I've done is 140 in a 65 zone.

105 in a 45 when I was 16 years old. This was on a long, 4-lane, country road with no traffic and no intersections for miles around. The FL State Trooper who pulled me over wrote me for 99 mph so he wouldn't have to arrest me. In FL 100+ mph is an automatic arrest. I was very thankful he didn't arrest me. I was young and stupid, what can I say. I paid a reduced fine and went to traffic school. The trooper laughed that it took over three miles to catch up to me (he was at a dead stop on the side of the road). I asked him what he was doing out here on this empty road, and he replied "Waiting for you" with a big grin. :)

12 nines in a 8 nine zone (That's .999999999999c in a .99999999c zone, for those of you who don't reckon in light-units). Some bull about relativistic effects. Apparently, relativistic doppler was shifting my headlights up into hot-gamma, and cooking some protected wildlife. Took 5 weeks for him to match speed.

Warp 9 in a Warp 5 corridor. Cop decloaked behind me and hailed me to pull over. I tried hitting him with an inverse tachyon pulse to disrupt his warp field but it had no effect.

Once I pulled over he beamed over a ticket and told me to take it easy and steer clear of the neutral zone.

Next time I'll keep my transphasic shields up.

Pulled over at ~75 in a 60 (he didn't get an actual radar reading, so instead he gave me a $512 "negligent driving" ticket...higher penalty and impossible to fight:roll:). That was not my night.

As for the fastest I've gone, that would be around 120, on a straightaway in the middle of nowhere. I was test riding a motorcycle, and I didn't realize how much more powerful than mine it was...

About 3mph.

I was walking along doing my thing when BAM, I got clocked. Hard. That's the last thing I remember.

I don't know the fastest I've been clocked at.

The fastest I've been clocked at and subsequently pulled over was 70MPH.
