I think it would be pretty cool if there was a mission where you rode across the Brooklyn bridge, and into times square for battle.

Also and old nuclear plant would be pretty cool, or something like a stadium during the super bowl.

Grocery store is probably the best so far...

A church or cathedral (eg Face/Off, The Killer)
Post office
D-day landing (sad that _Normandy never took off)
Wide open Civil War/Revolutionary War wide open battleground with weapons that have very short effective range
Inside a sexy disco with sexy lights, lighting equipment that explodes, and balloons that keep freakin' popping...
Trench warfare
Office building with cubicles and exploding printers
House of mirrors (might be annoying after a the novelty wears off)
On a date (because the most dangerous thing is falling in love)
In an alley where construction workers carry large panes of glass back and forth

My workplace
That's what I'd say too. Anything personal and close to home like that.

We used to play the original UT all the time in my office. One of us was just getting onboard with map-making with the plans to do a map based on our offices that we could use to play CTF. But then a big project came up and it was eventually forgotten. Oh well. Would've been cool.

I've always been a fan of vertically designed maps. So like a cliff level where you just leap off the cliff and fight in mid air on the way down. Throw in handgliders, parachutes and other fun equipment depending on style of play.

Tomb Raider Legends had a very cool snow cliff level also.

from my old workplace i knew a guy in the mailroom/facilities dept who was into FPS games and would sit in my office for 15 minutes talking about games. he would spend all his money on computers and games, anyway, before he was fired, he talked to me about building a FPS level himself that is a replica of our office

i didnt know whether i should be disturbed or should be happy that he's shooting coworkers in the virtual world and not in real life

Moving train would be great. Imagine the cars blacking out when it goes through a tunnel.

Aye, those games were underrated IMO. I wonder if the original developer/owner of the series is making a new game?

I made a pretty accurate version of my high school. Was fun because all of my friends knew the map before they even logged on.

I would love to see... AN ALIEN HIVE ... from the inside :p Time for a new ALIEN game to come out. Oh come on. And yep, a TERMINATOR game would be awesome too. I'm talking about a FEAR/HL/DOOM/DN like quality FPS revolving around the ALIEN or Terminator franchise. Now those alien hive / urban decay / abandoned scientific base scenarios would kick @$$. I'm shocked that no T game is coming out. It's really not that overused by developers. Urban decay FTW.

Novalogic? They have plenty. I am currently on the top 50 for BHD.

Just about any level from Deus Ex.

Liberty Island.
Battery Park.
Hells Kitchen.
Underground government complex.
Hong Kong Skyscraper.
Hong Kong streets.
Hong Kong club.
Bioengineering facility and offices.
NY docks.
Paris city and subways.
Paris Cathedral.
Air Force base.
Deserted gas station in post war California.
Underground ocean lab.
Missile Launch base.
And of course, Area 51 rebuilt into the global communications hub.

I REALLY wish they would redo that game with the Source or Doom3 engine.

As a terrorist player, running down the World Trade towers as they are falling down, fighting your way down the staircase to get out the downstairs doors as policemen are fighting upwards...

I used to enjoy the hospital map on Soldier of Fortune II multiplayer. Nothing like making a mad dash for the hospital rooftop to get the rocket launcher and waxing anyone that dares come out the stairwell on to the roof. :D
