What's the coolest place you can think of for a FPS level?

I shouldnt say this on the internet but I've always thought my hospital would be cool, empty of course just because it's not built like most hospitals, there are no long straight narrow hallways, as the building is a series of interconnecting crosses....it would just be kinda cool especially since thinking and using strategy would be key to survive.

I've always thought of my own high school being a FPS map, it would be fun and I'd know where I'm going.

I think a highrise office building would be a cool map. Kinda like cs_office in CS:S but more vertical.

CrackRabbit
One of my favorite old Unreal Torunament maps was kind of a conglomeration of MC Escher drawings. Laws of physics totaly ignored. Very fun, but dificult to play in.

I think they actually copied a Sin level that was like that but the sin level was more complicated and crazy. Anyone remember that DM level?

They had one of these in the original Rainbow 6... you end up doing alot of office to office fighting...

a friend of mine made a map of our highschool as a q3 ctf map...that was kinda interesting...

also, the football stadium was done in duke3d if i remember right.

- Aircraft carrier
- Underwater installation with transparent domes
- Open wasteland environment
- Moving train
- Cornfield
- Urban area street level (you can always see the streets in games like FEAR but you can never actually get there)

Yea I hated that level, it was the REAL office. cs_office doesn't even count. Some of that fighting got intense in the mens room too I remember, people trying to do Q3 jumps and hops and what not.

I think we should have cs_ATOT

Nice ideas! An aircraft carrier would be awesome.

They had a moving train mission in delta force 2 which was awesome, but it would be nice to see again in a more modern game.

FEAR and Deus Ex sort of meet the office environment thing, albiet not a highrise per se.

Underwater installation, minus the top dome was in Unreal Tournament, same with moving train. Duke Nukem had a small, but steet type, level, including access to a porn store and strip club. I still think episode one of DN had some of the best FPS levels ever made. Eps 2 and 3 were good as well, but I enjoyed playing in semi-realistic levels the most - ex. the arcade, movie theater, football stadium.

giant gothic cathedral with accessable catacombs, skywalks, everything, maybe the exterior, as well. Maybe have parts of it scaffolded so players could get on the roof and come in/shoot in through random windows, that kind of thing.
