I've done just about everything you can name including rebuilding several engines and hopping them up a LOT.
I know there are other motor heads out there as well, but I'm wondering how much the average poster on here has done....

Almost everything. Swapped cams (dropped a lifter... god what a mistake), took 'em all the way apart (never actually did the rebuild). Cars are a good hobby for me, cheaper than computers.
What??
Anyway, I've put in a dash kit for my cd player, added infinity speakers(need to add two more) and got a new tire. I now need to find a pair shocks that won't completely rape my wallet.

Working on cars isn't cheaper than computers, unless you're buying bleeding edge gear as soon as it comes out.
I'm building one engine, another is running well in the bus, refurbishing a set of Carroll Shelby wheels, reupholstering the interior, etc. And when those are done, I start on the paint and body.

I added an Airfreshener to one of the air vents. My car smells like fresh shower.

I completely devastated the back of my corolla a while back on something rather stupid.
Swapping the engine on a Bug is extremely easy. I got it down where I get the one out and put a new one in in less than an hour. Tip: cut the rear apron piece right along the seams, then drill holes in the overlapping seams (lining them up precisely), and bolt the apron back into place. Now you can R&R the engine without even having to jack the car up (but make sure to put a jack under engine of course).Originally posted by: Turin39789
Swapped the engine a few times, VW Beetle.
Brutuskend(I think you're into air-cooled) needs to teach me a thing or two, as I really am a total noob. I just go really slow, ask for a help online and hope it works
Carbs baffle me
