I just got an LG w2363d 120 hz. My previous monitor was a 26" S-IPS monitor. So far I am really liking it a lot. The image and color quality are a bit of a step down, but the smoothness is just like having a CRT again. In fact, even better than a CRT, since I don't remember ever having a CRT that could go up to 120 hz.

Now if your primary usage is for movies/desktop apps then I'd recommend not getting this particular LG, because you can't turn off the AMA function, which degrades image quality somewhat (e.g. text has a funny glow to it, not super annoying but noticeable). But for games this kicks ass. Motion clarity and smoothness >>> a little better contrast and color definition.

I don't have an ips to give u an honest comparison between the two but I came from a 19" 2ms tn panel to a 120hz panel and I'll never buy a 60hz gaming monitor again!

Funny thing people keep comparing 120fps vs 120hz like games don't make a difference if you can't reach 120fps, lol - don't let these people influence you. Its like giving time to jehoveh's witnesses - lol !!!

Yeah I've been using my 120hz monitor exclusively for a little while now and I can't go back to 60hz either. Having windows move smoother doesn't mean squat to me. What's got me hooked is playing games at 100fps and I also like switching it up to 3D once in a while and playing with that. In the anandtech review the reviewer said it was like going to SSD. At first I was reluctant to agree with that but I'd have to say after having played with the monitor more I'm going to have to agree. When people discuss monitors now I just do a facepalm when they still consider a 60hz monitor as an option. It's like building a Sandy Bridge pc with sli gtx 580's and using a mechanical drive instead of a SSD.
