sub: a BLT w/ green peppers, cheese, and mayo made at the local convenience store about 1/4 mile from my house. if you time the buy perfectly, the bacon is still warm, and the mayo, bacon fat, and cheese all mix together.

as for pizza, there's nothing like "pat's pizza" up here in maine. pretty small, thin pieces of pizza. good toppings. you just eat a TON of it.

Best Sub I've ever had was the Chicago Steak Grinder from Bellacino's in Rochester, Michigan. I wish there were some way they could deliver to Texas. (not likely... they don't even delivery in Rochester)

Any of their grinders are good but the chicago steak is the best. they're all baked with the fixings on and the bread is simply amazing. they also have the unique cubic shape because the sub is folded into a cardboard container before baking.

Best pizza is a tie between Donato's and Godfather's. West Coast Gourmet pizza is good too, but way overpriced

Best sub came from subway (i know i know, BOO SUBWAY). Had a friend who worked there hook me up w/ triple meat steak and cheese w/ bacon, banana peppers, black olives, oregano, vinegar, oil, salt, and pepper on that parmesean oregano bread that had just come out of the oven

dammit this thread is making me hungry!

Sub: For me, it was Sgt Peppers in South Miami. Heart Attack on a bun (that means it is good)

Pizza: This little gourmet grocery store in Anchorage, AK. Great wood oven pizzas....then there is the Moose's Tooth in AK also.

Best Pizza I've had is from a place called Newstand Deli right by my work. It's not just a deli, but more like a cafeteria-style place with lots of seating. I'm sure a few of you (Long Islanders) can verify how good the pizza is if you've been there... (Melville/Farmingdale).

I may be really quaint, but the first time I had a Papa John's pizza (Ham and Pinapple) in 1995, I was instantly hooked. I couldn't believe how good it was!

Hmmm... to find good Pizza in S.FL. Near my house is a place called Paisono's, it's decent. Then there's this italian restaurant down in Deerfield Beach called Antonios. It's in 'The Cove' off of Hillsboro. Love that place. They also have excellent Subs. Since I've moved to Lake Worth I haven't been down there much, can't say if it's gone downhill or not.

Also, in Boca, is this little momandpop Italian Deli called V&S (Vinnie and Sals). Federal HWY about a mile north of Glades Road on the west side. They make GREAT subs. (Well, again, been a while but they are still there and same owners). Their Chicken Parm is awesome as well as the Turkey and Seafood Salad subs. Pretty much all good.

Best hot sub is Mancinos around here, been to some other mancinos but the ones in our town tend to be the best.
Best cold sub, I really enjoy subway, we also just got a blimpies but its not quite the same... all about the bread.
Best pizza, I dont really like the homemade style, loved dominos before they moved out of town, but the best is Sbarro's when I was younger in the mall. Most current pizza places around here suck.
