What's the best game you have EVER played?

As unfortunate as it is to admit. I have to say Half-Life, Counterstrike in particular has taken up more of my time than any other game I have EVER played. As for non-multiplayer games. I'd have to go with Final Fantasy 7.
 
Final Fantasy 6 would have to be my favorite console RPG... I don't know if I can choose a favorite PC game though.
 
I cant pick just one, but over the years there have been several that I've really liked:

Command and Conquer, Red Alert
X-Com
Star Trek Armada
Unreal Tournament

-Spy
 
this wasnt a great game, but i think its the game i could enjoy the most: anachronox. sure i could play desert combat for hours, but its just not funny.
 
Maybe not the BEST game I have ever played, but I spent many more hours playing Asheron's Call than any other game. Luckily, I overcame that addiction and have now regained my social life. 🙂
 
original John Madden Football on sega Genesis, and Syndicate on the PC...any just about anything by id!
 
Too many different games have 100% captivated me at various times, but I'd have to say recently it would be Zelda: Wind Waker. Miyamoto is the bomb.

could you provide a little more detail? as in gameplay? i haven't actually DL'd it but i visited the forums and it seems interesting to say the least 🙂
 
Some of my favourites include:

Starcraft/Broodwar
System Shock 2
HL/CS
Diablo 2

Thats about it for recentish games...
