If Cheney goes out, Bush will appoint a new VP.
the only way Pelosi would move up is if Bush & Cheney go down at the same time.
Impeachment proceedings will not allow that to happen.
Each would have their own set.

Should proceedings start against Bush (which I doubt, given the fear of the Dems that Cheney would take the reins), then Cheney would take the position if Bush was to be actually impeached.

Therefore the only scenario would be the Cheney dies at the same time Bush is convicted in an impeachment trial.

As it stands, there is no Republican heir apparent that the Dems have to worry about.

If Cheny leaves, the the heir has 2 years to be groomed, making it more difficult for the Dems to potentially regain the WH.

Comparing Dick Cheney to soul sucking demons is an outrage, particularly to all soul sucking demons out there, and I don't think you want to piss off soul sucking demons.
