What's a good online source for buying bulk beef?

Just a cut of meat, like 10-20lbs.

Looking to spend at most $50 shipped.

Live in Illinois, so going to a farm isn't out of the question. I may even go to a farm since I'm going to go to UIUC, and pick it up there, what is a good price to ask a farmer?

Yea, I'm thinking of going to the butcher, but why put in an unnecessary middleman? I'm seriously thinking about going straight to the farmer, but don't know what prices would be. Would they be less than a dollar, more, what?
 
10 pounds is not bulk

bulk is a half steer or whole steer, several hundred pounds

if you want 10 pounds, go to the grocery store and get two large roasts
roasts go for about $2 to $4 per pound depending on the cut and if its on sale

It isnt really that easy. Each muscle in a cow is setup in a certain way so you can get certain cuts off of it. Thats why they have all these weird names for the different parts and how/where they are cut from that muscle...

Tried. Didn't work out as well, they just carry pork in those amounts, and I'm not buying like 4 packages of meat, I want just one cut about the size of an alternator.

 
What exactly do you mean to do with this meat? One large event or enough to last you for 6 months? And depending on price, you could go for what are basically porterhouse cuts or much cheaper roasts.
