Insert one of the tool/method that I mentioned above after you unscrew the overflow plate if you have a shower/tub combo, other wise turn & lift the floor plate or unscrew the screw/s to insert the tool in a stand alone shower stall.

Lye....

I actually just used Potassium Hydroxide to clear my slow shower drain. Worked wondered. Just remember to dilute it a bit.

Nice music in the video but wannabe tomboys and if that tub was clogged they aren't getting far past the tee and nowhere near the trap. Gotta pull the plate off the trip lever and snake from the overflow port.

But I suppose if you are lazy enough to throw caustic materials down the drain and don't want to remove the trap - this product seemingly of infomercial origin - would probably do ok. ;)

You can but those at Wal-Mart...which is also where I got my highly caustic material. Hell my shower drain is a university shower I don't care if I damage the piping since I'll be gone in a few weeks :p

Try caustic if nothing, then snake that biaotch.

The copper or ABS pipping should be able to handle a caustic chemical, however your eyes/lung/skin isn't going to like it if you have to dislodge the clog that is mixed in with the chemical.

How about taking a screw driver, unscrewing the two screws that hold the overflow/fill plug lever in place, pulling that part out, and pulling up the clog with a coat hanger. It'd probably take 1/10th the time it takes just to go to Walmart and back to get a chemical. It's free (well, minus the cost of a metal coat hanger).

Wow is all I have to say. Thank you so much for posting that link and showing us the light.

Two months ago we bought a few at Walmart B&M for under $3 each. When we got home I couldn't wait to open a ZipIt and try it. The ZipIt helped dislodge and remove some long, gnarly and soapy goop. I inserted it again and removed more mysterious goop.

Thank you again!

Isn't one of the main ingredients in the commercial products Sodium Hydroxide? (lye).

Lye rockers.

I read that as "brain declogger" and was very concerned as I entered the thread.

Yeah, you can't buy Red Devil with pure Lye anymore, thanks to the meth heads.

I can't believe so many people are using and recommending liquid unclogging. That stuff will corrode your pipes and will lead to leaking problems.
