if you really want a supra, buy a natural aspirated supra, take a few autocross and rally classes, save up some money and after you get REAL good, buy a turbo package for the NA Supra (which can still net you in the 500+ rwhp category = still lots) or swap in a TT engine.

The fact that swaps can be a pain isn't even the bad part about this swap .Swaping a 2JZGTE (TT engine) into a NA supra is about the stupidest thing you can ever do. You'll pay more for the engine and the swap (about 10K) than the difference between the two cars to begin with. Plus the TT has other benifits like bigger brakes among other things. Frankly this really hurts me to see this kid get this though. I know it's going to be wraped around a tree, telephone pole, another car, etc within 2 months tops. Another MKIV lost

Ignoring the BS flag for a moment, do the car (and yourself) a favor & don't get anything with more than 150 HP.

Why is that so hard to believe? That isn't an outrageous purchase. Yes, I will agree that it is more expensive than what most kids drive, but it certainly is not nearly the coolest car my friends have been offered by parents.

Some parents like buying their kids nice cars. Live with it.
