It is because all Supras run 12's.

IMHO, a Supra is a bit more car than you should have as a new driver...

The best one you can get is a 97 or 98 limited edition supra... but good luck finding one that hasn't been abused or modified in any way. They will run for over $30-40k.

I suggest you get a decent cheap car until you get accustomed to driving.

Since you just got your license, you will get more than your share of small accidents and/or incidents that will mess up the car. Obviously, you dont want this happening to a Supra do you?

well you can thank the Fast and the Furious for the outrageous prices those supras cost. Before the movie the 98 TT were only 12-15K.

Put some nice springs/struts on a GTS...put a turbo on there..it'll be more than enough for a new driver. :D

The '97 15th Anniversary retailed for the most, and I think they made a limited AWD version of it but I'm not sure. On another note, there are probably cheaper and more fun ways to die foer a 16 year old. Solid cars though, I have the '87 with all the options and it's a sweet ride.

Not until some idiot in a Civic says, hey Supra boy, lets race. And you end up thinking, "hell I'm in a supra, there's no way I can lose", and you end up driving into a wall or off a cliff.

One thing that you need to think about is that any twin turbo car is going to eat gas. Be prepared to pay for it. I am 16 and all i want at the moment is a small fast car, but my parents felt a 12 year old volvo station wagon would be a better first car. Looking back on if i had gotten a supra or similar car, it would have been very impractical for a 16 year old (but that doesnt change the fact that i still want one). But if you are dead set on getting a fast car like supra, there are some that are extremely similar and alot less money bc they were not in TFATF. Take a look at some Nissan 300zx TT, some dodge stealth r/t (exact same car as 3000gt vr4) , or a mitusbishi 3000gt vr4. Also this is just some food for though. Do u really need a daily driver that can push 600 hp with a few mods? Take a look at some turbo 4 bangers. The 1.8t engine in the vw gti and audi a4 is a great engine bc by itself its relativly quick and you can add a $500 chip to it and your pushing just under 250 hp in a go kart. For most people that would be plenty fast for a daily driver and youll still be able to maintain around 20mpg and only a tank thats about $25 to fill. Also the subaru wrx is pretty quick but i perosnly dont like the looks.

Then why do you want one? If I had a fast car, I'd be taking it to the track..running autocross when I could..etc..why waste a fast car on 'normal' driving?

He's lying or he wants to pick up some chicks and then race :p :). Isn't the next gen Supra coming out late 2004 as a 2005 model? Maybe its 2005.

This guy is right. You WILL race. You're a guy. That's what guys do. If someone challenges you to race, and you don't, you're a female. So don't get a rare car like a Supra. Believe me, it hurts when you realize you just destroyed a car that you see an example of maybe once a week.
