What would you do in this situation?

After learning what a Catch-22 is I'd learn what Photoshop is and then I wouldn't need to worry about the shark because it isn't there.
 
the Catch 22 here is trying to decide whether to post about how stupid the OP is for not knowing what a Catch 22 is and how his true topic doesn't apply or actually replying to the actual topic as it is actually pretty interesting...

And, to answer the question, there have been several people in kayaks who have had their kayaks "tasted" by sharks. I'd build a bigger living room with a huge mantle so I could hang that kayak over the fireplace. Til the day I died, I be telling every grandchild that came to my house, "did I tell you about the time a great white shark bit my kayak while I was in the middle of the ocean?"
 
I remember a program showing some video just on the other side of the shark nets around the cape there, think it was during one of the shark week runs, and you could just about hop from fin to fin they were packed so tight and walk a good distance out to sea without getting wet.
