Maybe that's because a slap is not a hit, and men and women have different standards of acceptible behavior, due both to biology and culture?
I'm not referring to hitting back. I'm referring to the fact that everyone is ok with the girl hitting the guy because he 'said a rude comment'. So, shouldn't it then be ok for a guy to hit a girl if she says a rude comment?
Did you miss the part where women want equal rights and treatment in the USA?
How is a slap not a hit? It's physical violence.

I agree... hitting is wrong and I don't hit women. So my question that I'm trying to get out of people is: why is it ok for women to hit men in our society? Why aren't women being raised to believe it's wrong to hit a man?
Who cares what "we" would do, if you're satisfied with the way you handled the situation, and so is she (assuming she wouldn't have felt better had you whacked her back), then that's all that should matter.

Don't worry about the slap once. It sounds like she was genuinely apologetic about the incident. Make sure you milk it for all the nookie you can get, though! If it happens again, take a break from eachother and send her to counseling. OP, I agree with your policy of never hitting a woman. Are you saying that women want physical equality with men? Or are you saying that most women are physically equal to most men?
What exactly is your point?
As for what's the difference in a woman slapping a man and a man slapping a woman.
Most men and women are not equal physically.
Most men are larger and stronger than most women.
Most women do not slap men out of a desire to physically dominate them.
Most men who do slap women do so out of a desire to physically dominate them.
Most women who were slapped by a man would feel in fear of their physical safety.
A man has a right to hit someone when they hit him in order to defend himself when he is put in fear of his physical safety.
Most men are not frightened for their physical safety by a slap from a woman and therefore do not feel the need to defend themselves by hitting her back.
Now if you were a small man and the woman was physically dominant I could see you being frightened for your safety if she slapped you and you hitting her to defend yourself from harm, but cases like that are very rare.
So I guess my point is that it's okay for a man who's slapped by a woman to hit her back if he's less of a man than most. :evil:
As for the girl slapping the guy in the OP, I don't think it was right for her to do it. I've never slapped a guy in my life and I certainly don't think I'd have a right to do it because he made a rude comment, though I would reserve the right to make an equally rude and insulting comeback. I think the only time a woman has a right to slap a man for being rude or insulting is in the case of physical rudeness, like a guy who has no right to touch her grabbing her in an inappropriate way.
my renters girl is in jail right now because she hit him. he took it and didn't do anything back, but she called the cops and when they got there he had a busted nose and was bleeding. he put his hands in his pockets when she smacked his ass. busted him up good though, so don't think a girl can't throw a punch! her rings did the most damage though. but alll in all, don't hit a woman even if she hits you first, or we'll be coming over with Vinney and the boys to do a little knee-cap work on your soory ass....
