i rolled through a stop sign right by my house, which is nearly impossible to find, and it just so happened that a cop was cruising through. the fine was about $100 in CA about 4 years ago.

i can't really complain though, i've been pulled over for doing 100+ twice and have been let go both times

When I was 15 I got busted for speeding in MA doing 71 in a 55 and got a $31 fine.

wtf kind of laws do they have over there in VA? my friend paid nearly a $1000 fine and had his license suspended for a year.

edit: it was wreckless driving in CA about 6 years ago.

I kid you not - the jugde annoucned he just got a 2:00pm tee time and wanted to be out of there by 1:30pm, so we skipped lunch and he lined up everyone and swore us all in at once,

he gave the cop 1 minute to present his case and defendant 1 minute to reply

When they called me forward I just stood up and yelled "guilty"

The judge smacked the gavel and gave me my fine without the cop even getting a chance to present his case.

49 in a 35 this week in Rosedale, MS. (Population 856) Zero red lights two gas stations and liquor stor.

Mississippi Delta on Hwy 1 nothing but flat land and cotton. You may see another car every 5-10 miles. Smoking along about 70 in a 55 (normal speed for the delta on two lane highway). Slowed up going into the little town and bam radar as soon as hit the city limits.

They hwy inside the city limits is about 1/4 mile long and they were running a radar speed trap. $101 bucks.

After ~7 years of driving I've yet to be ticketed (knock on wood). I have been flashed a couple of times, though.

Most recently was... yesterday. I was driving back from Kentwood, LA through some of the nastiest rain I've ever been through. Visibility was like 10 feet. I get back into town and the rain had let up significantly (barely even a drizzle), so I was driving just a little below the speed limit (~42 in a 45). Pulled past a cop car going 40 or so and he wooped his siren and flashed his lights (I assume at me).

It happened to be the first time in years that I didn't have my driver's license with me in the car, so it's probably a good thing I didn't get pulled over. He was being a jerk-off, though, since I was driving safely. He just didn't like me passing him unlike all the cars lined up behind him, I think. ;)

I've been lucky enough not to get a ticket in my 6 1/2 years of driving. Been stopped several times and always let off without anything, not even a warning. Watching COPS helped. :)

Closest thing(4 years ago) was an $18 parking ticket and I even walked up while the officer was writing me the ticket. Damn traffic cop wouldn't budge. :/

Ever since then I always put an extra dollar just to be certain it doesn't cost me $18.

a friend of mine failed to stop for a school bus with flashing red lights ON THE OTHER SIDE of the street and got written up - he said it was a $400 ticket - this is Cali by the way. When the bus flash red lights, all sides of traffic must stop. Most people know to stop but not many know they need to stop when on the other side of the street.

For my last ticket, the cop actually wrote me down for having malfunctioning taillights and a suspended license. The total on the ticket was $560.

I paid significantly less though, by submitting some testimony.

i was going 80+ in a 55 (which i thought was a 65), and the cop gave me a ticket for unsafe speed - something like 120 bucks and no points. i was really fortunate but she also did not have a radar gun.

this was on my way to philadelphia airport.

I got a ticket for passing on a double-yellow years ago on my motorcycle. I whipped around what I assumed was some yokel in his pickup and it turned out to be a DNR ranger.

Me = busted. :eek:
