Actually, if you consider college to be a place of higher education instead of a glorified vocational school, arts & sciences would be among the few that would be left.
And maybe you did, but not everybody goes to school on daddy's dime.

Well, like I said in my 2nd post I voted w/in the limitations of the pole. And, in the wider scope of things, since you consider art such a waste I guess you abstane from reading books, going to movies, watching TV, listening to music, etc.

I truly resent that you just said that.:disgust:
There are different aspects of "art" and it is not what you think: a bunch of ...what you would call 'spoiled brats' sitting around coloring and finger painting. Art can be tons of different things that DO require time and most importantly TALENT. I am one of those that choose art and when i go back to school, I will continue in that field. I am damn proud to be creative and artistic and want to spend the rest of my life doing what i love.

Currently majoring in theoretical physics. I may, however, decide to switch into astrophysics, which merely entails taking a few astrophysics/cosmology courses in addition to the standard theoretical curriculum.

So thats how you're going to convert the masses to the Gamecube? 😛 Use it as a teaching tool?

Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Forensic Chemistry. Either one falls in the same category.
Planning on going to Pharmacy school afterwards though.

Wow... Someone just displayed tremendous ignorance...

Believe it or not, many art majors, as well as musicians, and others in the arts, work a lot harder than those in the sciences. I dare you to take an upper-level art history or music theory class sometime.

I double majored in music and computer science as an undergraduate, and computer science was by far the easier of the two majors.

Bull. I work with a bunch of artists at my job, one of whom is my best friend from HS. His father is a janitor and my friend paid his way through art school working a 25hr/wk night job. None of the other artists here are from rich backgrounds or spoiled in any way or form. They work their butts off. They just happen to have a particular level of talent that many people don't, and they decided to make a living off of it.

I know plenty of CS majors who are lazy and spoiled. College major isn't enough information to know anything about someone's background or temperment. (OK, maybe I believe some steriotypes about guys who are Women's Studies majors 😛)
