none. i want to be here in 10 years. not dead due to cancer because of disgusting tobacco. you want cancer? fine. but don't advertise it. you need to stop. think about it like this: with the amount of money you spend on tobacco, you could buy yourself a much better rig. that amount of money spent on drugs today is absurd. say you smoke a box a day. box of cigars = $10-$15 for the cheap. over a year, that equals out to $5475. stop smoking!
I don't know who in their right fvcking mind smokes a BOX of Cigars a day. Hell, a good smoke can last you a good half-hour, and the boxes I know are about 15-20 cigars to them. So that's 7 1/2 - 10 hours of smoking a day.
And $10-15? You're smoking grass and manure for those prices.
My meter must be broken because I seriously responded to this post.
It used to be Camel Lights but i hav esince quit and now it is the occasional cigar like at a wedding and such.

a smoker who defends their smoking.
at least my mom, who is a smoker, knows it's bad for her and has tried to quit. you will never hear her bragging about her smoking.
i can see her carting around an oxygen tank in the future, because the addiction is so strong she has failed time and time again at quitting.

The addiction isn't nearly as strong as the will power is weak. She can't quit because she doesn't have enough will to quit.
Ask her to try hypnotism.
If someone likes to smoke, why is that so evil? Why should they even have to defend it?
They like doing it, regardless of the implied health effects, that's all the reason someone needs.
You know what's worse than smokers? Self-righteous people who think their will should be imposed on others.

Smoke about 10-15 cigarettes a day. I can't/don't wanna quit so I started drinking 500ml of fresh orange juice every day since I saw that Oprah episode on cancer. Apparently, it reduces (moderately) the amount of damage it does to your system. Even then, apart from the cigarettes, I have a pretty clean lifestyle (never tasted alcohol in my life, no drugs, hardly eat red meat, work out a fair bit etc.)
My dad developed colon cancer and he never smoked cigarettes/drank alcohol. If it's your time, it's your time.

she's tried hypnotism
she's tried the gum
she's tried the patch
she's tried cold turkey several times, and she gets horribly ill with withdrawl symptoms.
she's tried prescription meds, and they've made her sick, too.
you can call her weak, but i think it's more that nicotine is a strongly addictive drug.

why is it so evil? i'll give you a call in a few years to be a pall bearer at my mom's premature funeral or maybe you can help her cart her oxygen tank around if she lives long enough to need one due to decreased lung capacity. that's evil just like your insinuations about me being self righteous and imposing anything on my mother are evil.
i don't nag her about her smoking at all. she doesn't smoke around me often. i realize that if she's going to quit she has to want to for herself not for anyone else.
you know what's worse than any kind of person mentioned so far? you.

I've touched alcohol but have never smoked cigarettes. I guess I win because I don't have a addiction!
I know what nicotine is I was/am addicted to it for 12 years. It boils down to will power, and I am not necessarily calling her weak. I am saying she is weaker than nicotine is strong. She doesn't have enough will power to quit, and that is all it takes is will power. It isn't some mysterious disease that kills you and you have nothing to do about it. It's a freaking habit, and just like any other habit it can be beat. And to put in into perspective there are habits/addictions much stronger than smoking that people have left behind.
Tell her to stop being such a defeatist and quit. I got/have most of the withdrawl symptoms too... you just realize that they will go away and you can beat it. It is that simple.
