What tv shows have you given up on/stopped watching?

Came in here to say TWD, but was really surprised to see so many other posters did the same. I would have otherwise thought OT was, by and large, the target demographic for TWD . . . I mean, people here have actually recorded and watched more than one episode of The Last Ship, so . . .

Some of us just have higher expectations. The show is crap.

Ok . . . then point us to a show that meets your lofty "higher expectations." I srsly can't wait to see what show you put forth.

Also, Bones, yeah, loooooong ago now. The characters were winsome (to me) but the show long ago ran out of steam . . . not that it was ever must see TV.

I am not currently watching any shows. Some of my past favorites were "The Office" and "Stargate". Most things I watch now are documentaries on Netflix.

Like many I didn't get past the start of S5 of TWD. It became even more a soap there, with even more stupid decisions.

24 was too 'American' for me. I preferred Spooks.
Seinfeld I liked some of the humor, but I couldn't stand Seinfeld himself. Gave up after a short while.
Grimm: I was simply watching too many other series so I put that on hold and haven't returned since. May at some point still though.
American Horror Story: Watched S1 and S2, didn't like S3 and stopped watching. Started again with S4, but after a while stopped again due to lack of time and didn't return since.

There's a lot of series I stopped watching or only once in a while watch nowadays. The Big Bang Theory among others. I still enjoy the humor once in a while, but it's more of the same.

I watched TWD through season 3? Or maybe part way through season 4?
Even after season 2 I was bitching that NOTHING HAPPENED.
Season 2 they sat on a farm the entire season.

Most overhyped show EVER.

Well... Carl tried leaving a few times during the second season. That never seemed to end well.

Only watched the first season of fear the walking dead.

Tried to watch that Scientology thing, but IMO wasn't well presented and was kind of boring. Lots of advertisement to sell it, but not good.

Tried to watch Psych on Netflix, but didn't last much into the 2nd season.

I don't keep up with much anymore, so I will follow the few still left.

I want so badly to give up on Breaking Bad. It isn't bad but takes until the end of season 3 to get over the 7/10 mark. Peaks at about 7.5/10 and then falls back to a 4-5/10 at the start of season 4. This show is not the legend some would have you believe. But I've come this far I might as well just finish it up.

Supernatural. Gave up around season 8. It just meandered after season 5 ended (show was great up to then). The show somehow manages to keep going on though. (what season 12 now?)

I'm almost through season 9 on Netflix now. Seems like it's starting to pick up a little. It's better when they focus on long story arcs rather than baddie of the week. On a related note, I'm not sure how there are any angels left.

I quit NCIS quite a while ago. Maybe season six or seven. I tried NCIS LA for a couple years. You know a show is bad when LL Cool J is the best actor.

Once babby was formed, all of them. Even before that, it was hard to keep up with networks constantly switching timeslots or taking breaks...now I'm just like "fuck it I'll watch it on Netflix next year" (but I never do.) TV is now for live sports and Netflix/Prime TV only.

I've seen the first season of Fargo and I liked it but I never start watching the second one because the first 10 minutes turn me off every time.

I also don't have much time to waste tho. I will probably watch it later in the year.

yeah I mean it's like Dexter imho, it's a great idea and everything but at some point in these series you start to see the patterns and the writers' imagination drying up.
This is why I like game of thrones so much: the TV show is created from a trove of completely original material with a very long time-line and it's about a whole world with different people so there is no pattern there. It's fresh medieval fantasy every episode.

I've stopped watching many shows but I will focus on recent snubs....

Most recently Blindspot... Liked the premise in the first season but the terrible acting finally got to me a few shows into the 2nd...

Same goes for the 2nd season of FTWD. I have a hard enough time watching TWD when it's on, couldn't invest any more time in a 2nd season...

Add Last Man On Earth, too. I can only tolerate Will Forte in small doses any more...

I may have given up on Designated Survivor, too. I stopped watching and started DVR'ing 5 episodes ago. Not sure I am going to start back up...

Funny, I liked both Supernatural and X-Files when they were doing the monster of the week format. When X-Files got away from that and everything became a government conspiracy it went off the rails. Same with Supernatural, the whole war of heaven thing with angels popping up in every scene became too deus ex machina.

Sometimes I'm a glutton for punishment and find myself in sunk cost/time fallacy. Sons of Anarchy and True Detective S2 tested my resolve to finish them to the end. I guess I just basically watched to laugh at how absurd they were.

Sad thing is looking back, I miss Sons of Anarchy. But I think Sutter is working on something in the same vein.

But TWD, dang that needs to be dragged out behind the shed and shot.
