Bates Motel, although because Mrs Ned wants to finish it we've started up again.

I gave up on Bates Motel somewhere middle of season 1, but the SO wanted to watch more so we got to middle of season 2 before she gave up as well.

Marvel Agents of Shield. Sometime around season 3 it started to feel too ridiculous to continue.

I gave up on MAoS after episode 1 for the same reason.

blacklist - james spader stopped doing crazy shit for a bit so i completely lost interest

James Spader is the only reason I finished Season 1, but still lost interest a few episodes into Season 2 because Megan Boone is just that bad.

Supernatural. Gave up around season 8. It just meandered after season 5 ended (show was great up to then). The show somehow manages to keep going on though. (what season 12 now?)

I gave up on Supernatural around Season 3 or 4, but the SO never gave up on it. It has gotten better the past couple of seasons so I don't mind watching with her again.

iZombie, nearly gave up last season but the finale was good. This season is a struggle again, even for the SO.
About to give up on Arrow and The Flash, though I really lost interest after Broken Hearts (Arrow S04E16) and Duet (The Flash S3E17) and am just going through the motions for the SO.
The Expanse, Van Helsing, and Outcast, gave up mid first season, but the SO likes Outcast so I indulge her.
American Horror story was so bad last season I gave up after the first episode, and even the SO gave up later in the season.

starting with that boring season, the only thing that kept me watching was Maggie. Hottttttttttttt.

eehhhh... She was the best looking thing on that show, that's for sure.
But that's like saying the prettiest pig in the pen too.
And honestly, the acting from damn near everyone on that show is a just a cut above Highschool musicals.

um, Lauren Cohan is majorly "planed-down" for that role. You should uh, look up her other contributions.

Well yeah, Maggie is sort of uglied-up a little to stay in character, nobody in a zombie apocalypse has much access to salons and skin care products. But Lauren Cohan cleans up really well.

"Given up on" can mean a lot of things. Watch three seasons, say "that's it" and don't watch the next ten seasons. Or watched one episode and think "this show is for overgrown adolescents and morons".

Too many to list. Some that I can remember.

Lost
Dexter
Sons of Anarchy
Homeland
The Walking Dead
House of Cards
The Americans
Outlander
The Leftovers (one and done)
Banshee
The Blacklist
Grimm

over the heads? the show is lowest common denominator. it isn't a "smart person" show.

Says a person that's watched 20 episodes of a show he doesn't like. You're not even on speaking terms with the concept of "smart person".

Breaking Bad is brilliantly written and crafted to appeal to intelligence. It is filled with tiny insides, callbacks to what looked like meaningless lines, little details in a scene that have huge impact down the line. It is the very definition of a show that rewards intelligence and attention to detail. And if you don't get that, well, that says it all.

Your arrogance is staggering. Instead of having a heart attack over the extent to which I like a mediocre show, why don't you just save yourself some frustration and get back to humping a television show in private.

Slowly stopping most broadcast shows and catching up on streaming shows.
Just started Breaking Bad a week or two ago. It's good but not as amazing/best show in history as some would make it out to be.

I'd love to give up the Simpsons but i've seen every episode since the beginning so I feel like I need to ride it out.

A lot of broadcast shows I'll watch for a season but if it starts to just get tiring to watch or there's no need for season two I just give up. I'm at that point with Designated Survivor, it's fine for one season but no way in hell will I watch a 2nd season.

My goal is to cancel cable in the fall and go with antennas for OTA and stream everything else. Ultimately if I miss something it really won't matter in the grand scheme.

Breaking Bad is getting better. Im well into Season 3 now. After a mediocre season 2, 3 turned things up a notch and is actually interesting. Nowhere near the legendary status it has but its better than mediocre now and seems to be trending upwards.

Latest show to stop was Arrow. I think I was somewhere in seaon three. Just got bored with it, and sick of hearing "how are you" 20x an episode.

Before that was Breaking Bad. Only made it through 3 episodes, so I don't know if it officially counts. Just not my kind of show I think.

Still watching The Flash. Still entertaining, even though they try to keep wrecking the story line. It may be the next on my drop list.

Agents of SHIELD might be getting there too. It has moved to a "record and watch the whole season at once" regiment. That may help.

Most shows seem to run out of steam after 4-5 years, but Hollywood insists on running them into the ground, then beating that dead horse some more and finally jumping a shark over it.

Bones started out clever with an interesting cast of characters. I forget exactly which season I stopped caring and drifted away, maybe the season after Booth had the brain tumor and shot a clown?
