I see some references to WMP10 causing it to perform slowly, although that was when using WMP10 to transfer the music. Perhaps you can uninstall WMP10 if you have that installed? It might be worth a shot.

I have tried e-mailing them with no response. It says in their RMA replacement protection that I must have the original receipt.. no receipt, no RMA. 🙁

I actually tried it when WMP9 was installed on my sys.. I just recenly re-upgraded to 10 after my reinstall.

 
something must be f-ed up with your system. if windows gave you the message that the device could run faster if plugged into a high speed port. wouldnt that imply that the device is usb high-speed and there's a problem with your usb ports instead? i mean, you wouldnt get the "this could run faster if plugged into a high speed port" msg if you plugged in a usb 1.1 device to a usb 2.0 port. right?
