What the hell? The Lego Movie?

This is the one time that me and my 6 year old son are equally excited for a movie. I can't wait!

Let me also play a little more Debbie Downer...

One of the enduring things about the earlier LEGO games (Star Wars, HP etc) were that the figures did_not_talk, yet the entire storyline was able to be told through other means -- visual clues, them making inflections/noises etc. Then they started having the figures talk -- and some of the "magic" was lost IMHO.

I agree BUT Silent movie LOL? My grandson would be gone in 10 minutes.

We went to a 4:30 pm showing. It was mostly older kids and parents. We had the youngest kid, 3 years old. Not all is lost!

Besides, the dude sitting next to us laughed so loud sometimes it was ridiculous!

Admittedly I am a big fan of Lego, but it was quite good of a movie. I think most of the adults seeing it will enjoy it almost as much as their kids.

I personally hated the live action stuff. It pretty much killed it for me. I didn't get why they had to add the dick father into it, it would have been a much more entertaining movie for me if it was just lego. I wanted escape not a life lesson about not being stingy with your toys. It also broke the pacing of the movie as the rest was fast then suddenly really really slow as we watch the Dad learn not to be a dick.

I went on Saturday and it was sold out. So bought ticket for 5pm. Showed up at 4:15 and there was a 50 person lineup already.

I liked it and I wasn’t expecting much. They are going to rake in the money.

I broke down and saw it over the weekend. I liked it, although it does slow down a little bit right before the climax.

But I liked the twist.

I think the twist worked because we know Legos aren't real but, to a child that's playing, what's happening in Legoland is very, very real. And I liked it.
