I don't know, I kind of like it - especially the part where the website decides that story links are more important than some of the images I am trying to read

ars use uses gray as a background as its not eye blindingly bright

I forgot Ars actually looks like that since I always switch it over to blog view (or whatever the view is called that gives you one big column of articles on the left and a narrower one on the right).

I think it looks terrible to be honest. Bad choice of colors. If they make the forums look like that... D:

Twitter on the side, no likey. Will Facebook be on the other side too? In general it looks messy and hard to read.

Niiiice. The soul-crushing blue background has been banished!
It's much more reader-friendly, font & spacing-wise.
Not that I read it much; I only read up on hardware every couple years when I'm in the market.

Why do companies think I want to follow them on facebook or Twitter? They have a corporate website. I've no desire to share my personal info with them.

Also, no one gives a rats ass to what's "trending" - only the website owners. It's just useless clutter. I'm for sure NOT going to click a topic just because its "trending."

Looks better now with the off white background.

It would be nice if they would put the pipelines bit, facebook and twitter feeds on each side in the white space but I guess that would interfere with the adds.

Well there you go, you have no perspective. Had you been using it a lot recently you'd appreciate how bad the new format it.

I actually like it better two changes ago. Easy to read and find stuff, minimal clutter. I kinda wish they'd post more articles too.
Shit, I just dont like Anandtech anymore!

I don't get why owners of homepages think that they need to change it every so often. All it does is piss off most of the people. I come to the conclusion that the web guy gets board and has nothing better to do so he redesign the web page. IMHO 2003 was best the design. Why do you think Google is the 1# website? They kept it simple and the same.

Well, that and it also works. Those of us who remember dealing with Alta Vista and Webcrawler in 1995 can appreciate just how wonderful Google really is.

The Anandtech main page has never been great for me. The big complaint in this thread is that the main page also seems to get a harder to use each generation.
