I'd wager more than half the posters haven't ever lived outside of mom and dad's house yet, much less lived in Detroit or Africa.

The big difference is that's largely by choice in America. They have schools, students just choose not to go and learn. In Africa, students want to go and learn, but there are no schools. There are hordes of people living in poor countries that are desperate for an education. They must think the people here that refuse to get one are crazy.

Honestly - it depends on where you are talking about going in both places. There are places in Africa and Detroit that I would not visit but there are places I would like to go in Africa nad places in Detroit that I do go to and are pretty nice

Overall I would say the genocide and number of rapes in Africa makes it just a tad worse
