Some of you are complaining about the debt but only two presidents in the last 30 years have decreased the deficit. Guess who they are.

If you make decisions based on your gut and not the facts then you are bound to get a result that turns your stomach.

The zero presidents that have? Qualification: Reducing the deficit actually means cutting Fed spending and then not actually spending over that amount.

Which presidents did that?

Hmmm, that graph doesn't look like anyone cut spending. Let me be more precise:

If the Gov has a budget of $2T this year, and has overspent it by $1.1T dollars, for a total of $3.1T in spending, then a POTUS coming along and spending $3.0T next year hasn't "cut spending", he's merely overspent less. It's like saying your 14 year old daughter who is carrying one baby is less knocked up than her 14 year old friend who is carrying twins.

Neither is an acceptable situation, and neither should in any way have either set of parents crowing that they 'cut birthrates'. They failed. Their daughter failed. Everyone failed.

So in light of all that, which POTUS again cut Fed spending (remove the bailouts please, they were one timers, although rediculous)?

Cutting spending is not the same as decreasing the deficit. Jesus titty fucking Christ some people are ignorant.

I suggest you look at the chart above your post. Bush was the worst because he loved his wars, but the claim that the Dems are saints on the issue isn't true.

Probably the best thing the government could do is shift spending from providing some services to providing tax incentives for people and business to take advantage of. That will never happen though.

If for no other reason give Obama a super majority so that he can sign collective bargaining for medicare drugs.

It will lower co pays for seniors and reduce medicare spending, and the Republicans won't let it through.
