What neat car did you see today?

I saw a Rivan Electric Van... didn't have courier tags on it tho, but i am fairly sure it was probably amazon's.

I'm visiting San Francisco with family this week and saw a Waymo care while walking through Golden Gate Park. Not something you see everyday especially when you're from Central Illinois like I am.

I saw a Kia EV6 yesterday. At least I'm pretty sure it was - I could barely make out the "KIA" badge in the sunlight and I couldn't see any others, but those slanted taillights are pretty distinctive. I thought it looked like a station wagon...with very sporty styling.

I saw a side dump truck that took a high speed trip into a swampy area next to the highway, does that count? When I went by the first state patrolman was responding, and when I came by 15 minutes later he had a second patrol car. It was the beginning of a very bad day for him.

I saw an AC Shelby Cobra yesterday.
I think it was a replica... i highly doubt anyone would drive an original.

I had to pull up next to him and compliment him.
I wish I took a Photo of it.

If i had time to enjoy actually driving, i totally would probably get a replica one.
They look like its so much fun to drive, and the 427 engine noise.... I miss how nice of an alto they sang when rev'd.

I saw a ton of awesome stuff at the track on Sunday. Multiple GT3s, some McLaren or other, one guy was there in a 993 Carrera S which you never see anymore now that they’re extremely valuable.

I took a video of a very loud spine tingling GT3 screaming by at 9000 rpm. No pics sadly except for little old me:

What car are you taking to the track? I'm not particularly at ID'ing BMWs from a few generations back. In regards to the GT3, there are a couple of guys in the track group that have track only 997 gen GT3. Easily the best sounding cars when they show up. Couple of weeks ago there was a guy running a track only imported right hand drive MK3 MR2. I talked to him for a little bit and that car looked like fun.

I always have a hard time IDing the 911s .. 997 and later all look the same to me, 964 and 993 and earlier all look the same, only the 996 stands out for its headlights that everyone seems to hate 😛

Anyway that’s my E46. It keeps up well enough for being a 25 year old design, and certainly still has a lot to teach me.

I live in LA. We've got everything. But a Yugo? Now there's something unusual...and an interesting experiment that obviously didn't work out.

I finally saw a Polestar 2 on the road this Saturday. Looks good, as you'd expect for a Volvo-adjacent brand. It's taller than I thought it would be, but that also makes it a realistic option on less-than-forgiving roads.

I saw a Lucid Air last weekend. It might be the best all-round EV out there, although I would be hesitant to spend that much on a car from an upstart company.

I've heard that the main issue so far is the early software; it's not terrible, but there have been glitches as you'd expect with a 1.0 product. Jon Rettinger (a YouTuber) sold his only because he was uncomfortable driving such a conspicuous luxury car and preferred the more practical (if still pretty posh) Rivian R1T.

Got my first look at a '22 mid-engine 'Vette cruising next to me on my way home on the freeway. Silver with yellow t-bans down its spine. I was about to order one, was just about to pull the trigger when my son who flips homes convinced me to go in with him on a split townhouse distress sale (severe cockroach infestation). *Poof* My dream Vette is still just a dream. I managed to record a 5 second clip of it as it was exiting the freeway. Looked to be a silver haired dude crossing an item off his bucket list. I'll see if I can edit in a pull-off from the clip.

In a new Corvette — yeah, sounds about right!

A young guy who just moved in a couple houses down from me has a light blue C3 (as far as I can tell?). I’m guessing it’s an heirloom or something because I’ve never seen him drive it. Looks really clean though and it’s a really striking car to see these days.
