Care to explain, or will your post remain useless?

I bolded the part that should answer that question.

Um are you kidding me? Have you ever used one of those "scratches more easily than a dog infested with fleas" ipods?
Creatives are FARRRR more scratch proof than ipods.

wrong. i'll have used it for over a week by the time i return it. that's more than ample time (i hope... but, then again, it is a creative zen microphoto....)

and i didn't rip off compusa. even if i did, i couldn't really care less. it's either i "rip off" compusa and get something for only a temporary reason only to return it or i suffer the entire 33 hours.

also, compusa has no problem with being "ripped off." i told the guy that i was just gonna use it for my road trip and return it. he said as long as it doesn't have any scratches and is still in brand new condition, i've got 21 days to return it.

no one gives a shyt... only you. get over it.

EDIT: by the way, whenever i return it, they still put it up for sale in the clearance section. some newb will come and buy it, so they're still getting paid for it and not "ripped off".

You are the reason liberal return policies are getting tightened up ... what a sense of entitlement :| Grow up. :|

I agree. Good god, how ignorant can someone be? And what impact does what the guy getting paid $7 an hour at the register have on anything?

I bolded the part that should answer that question.

A lot of mp3 players scuff up in my experience, and there are plenty of products to help prevent that. Just because something scuffs up doesn't make it a POS in my opinion. I thought he was referring to other problems.

OK, my point is that the guy purchased it with the intent of returning it later. Basically he wanted a free mp3 player for a road trip, knowing he was going to return it. His post is useless therefore because his criteria were based on whether he could return it and rip off the place that sold it to him.

why is my post useless? i used the product, so my post is valid. as for morality issues, i really don't care whether or not you think i'm in the right or in the wrong about "renting" an mp3 player for a 33 hr round-trip drive. i was going to use my friend's ipod, but she's going to england a day after i'm supposed to go back home. so, i had to make a choice... either "rent" one or listen to the radio. seeing how i like good music, radio was not an option.

i'm not ripping off compusa by buying and returning the product. it's called a refund. if i stole the product, that'd be ripping them off.

Back where I worked we had people try to do that all the time, sometimes they'd be dumb enough to tell us ahead of time. Thankfully, 90% of them tossed the boxes, scratched it up, something like that, and we'd politely refuse a refund.

I hope you get the biggest hassle of your life trying to return your rented MP3 player, with any luck you'll be so pissed you won't ever bother that store with your "business" again.

it was the manager who said it.

wah wah wah... i don't care what you guys think about it. i'm more concerned with my own comfort driving from missouri to maryland and back than a flick at compusa's revenue.

Exactly the reason North American society is going down the toilet ... everyone's interests are so much more important than anything else. It makes me sad that you're serious. :( I hope you get help ...

That's probably a lie regarding the manager, but it does not matter either way. The person probably just figured you were a big enough idiot to scratch the thing so they could refuse your refund. Hopfully he was right.

As for you being more concerned with yourself than what is right and wrong, yeah, we figured that out already.

I was just thinking the same thing. Replaced some etymotic ER6s that were dead with some IM716s, which are white. I'm hoping the blue case will fool potential muggers.

Not me. I get bent out of shape when I see people taking advantage of return policies, because many stores have had to stop having unconditional return policies due to people like you. I can no longer return a video game to EB because someone like you decided they could just buy one game and keep returning games endlessly as if it were a video game rental service. Now people like me who never abuse return policies can't return a game even once every 3 years because of selfish jerks.

maybe you should research or rent games before you buy them.
either way, you can still sell your game back to eb and at least get something back.

Because you can rent computer games, and the buy-back isn't a fraction of the origional cost of the game.

5G Ipod, it would be about what you paid for the 20gig new, not what its worth now. If you want cheaper you cna take a look at the IriverH10 20gig or maybe the iAudioX5. But personally I'd go w/ the 5G and get a nice case for it (check out corecases).

Maybe you should have rented an mp3 player. Or researched it. Or settle for only getting a partial refund.

wait, wait... so you are trying to equate returning a pc game (with a fvcking unique cd-key that can be easily stolen and the game can be easily burned) to returning an mp3 player?

gtfo.

Actually I'm equating being unable in the future to return an mp3 player because some selfish and cheap people repeatedly buy them to use on a road trip and then return them to presently being unable to return pc games that I did not illegally copy or steal the cd key of because some idiots repeatedly did illegally copy or steal the cd key.

Except that I don't want to copy the games and return them. I just want to return them without retaining a copy. You are the one who would keep a copy. I want to return them legitimately. It's a foreign concept to you, but some people actually return games without keeping them and selling the CD key on ebay.

i wouldn't keep an illegal copy of a game... a game is completely different. i'm not a dumbass who doesn't research a game before he buys it.
