What MP3 Player Should I Get?

GasX

Lifer
I had a 20GB Ipod and loved it until it was stolen. What should I replace it with that costs the same or less?

I  my Creative Zen Vision M

The abillity to play Divx files is my fave...
Oh, and I can listen to FM Radio and if there is a song I like playing or about to play, I can click on the record button! 😀

Also has a built in microphone to record notes or messages...

All in all, I'm glad I picked one up...

I bolded the part that should answer that question.

A lot of mp3 players scuff up in my experience, and there are plenty of products to help prevent that. Just because something scuffs up doesn't make it a POS in my opinion. I thought he was referring to other problems.

it's got an absolutely HORRIBLE ui and the touchpad is WAAAAY too sensitive. the lightest touch will activate whatever button you press. God forbid you touch the little menu button because it's a maze to get back to where you were without changing the song. it's a nice size, but the touchpad's awful, but it doesn't compare to how awful the software is. uploading the music on there is also quite the puzzle.

nothing's as easy as ipod + itunes.

OK, my point is that the guy purchased it with the intent of returning it later. Basically he wanted a free mp3 player for a road trip, knowing he was going to return it. His post is useless therefore because his criteria were based on whether he could return it and rip off the place that sold it to him.

why is my post useless? i used the product, so my post is valid. as for morality issues, i really don't care whether or not you think i'm in the right or in the wrong about "renting" an mp3 player for a 33 hr round-trip drive. i was going to use my friend's ipod, but she's going to england a day after i'm supposed to go back home. so, i had to make a choice... either "rent" one or listen to the radio. seeing how i like good music, radio was not an option.

i'm not ripping off compusa by buying and returning the product. it's called a refund. if i stole the product, that'd be ripping them off.

You are ripping them off because they have to incur some costs due to you returning it. Do you think it will magically reseal itself and be completely unused after?

And your opinion means jack because you didn't evaluate them all nor are you going to use it long enough to get used to the interface, which may eventually become quite good once you learn it.

wrong. i'll have used it for over a week by the time i return it. that's more than ample time (i hope... but, then again, it is a creative zen microphoto....)

and i didn't rip off compusa. even if i did, i couldn't really care less. it's either i "rip off" compusa and get something for only a temporary reason only to return it or i suffer the entire 33 hours.

also, compusa has no problem with being "ripped off." i told the guy that i was just gonna use it for my road trip and return it. he said as long as it doesn't have any scratches and is still in brand new condition, i've got 21 days to return it.

no one gives a shyt... only you. get over it.

EDIT: by the way, whenever i return it, they still put it up for sale in the clearance section. some newb will come and buy it, so they're still getting paid for it and not "ripped off".

Good logic on the edit. So you pay say $200 and get refunded $200 then they sell it for $180. Guess what happens to that $20? They eat it. Thanks to you. Good job.

CompUSA has a problem with being ripped off. Even if this person you spoke to didn't, compusa does. That is why they often have a restocking fee.

One week is not ample time. Especially if you are still not used to how "sensitive" the interface is. Uploading to the zen is quite easy as well, I'm guessing you didn't RTFM. The interface isn't great but it's hardly confusing, especially for someone who is using it for a week.

You are the reason liberal return policies are getting tightened up ... what a sense of entitlement :| Grow up. :|
