Tonight I am making Instant Pot macaroni.

Nothing special but tasty nonetheless.

tonight I made a pork loin roast in my Instant Pot. When it was done I removed the roast and put in some chunks of carrots, 1 onion sliced in half and 4 potatoes quartered and cooked them for 5 mins.

Wow! The roast is awesome and the veggies are great!

:D

Looks delicious but what did the degenerates think about it? I know they can be a little stubborn when it comes to trying new foods.

One likes it, the other, not so much. I didn't season it just so they can decide how to season it.

I made steak bites with creamy mushroom sauce over penne pasta. It turned out pretty good, but the sauce was too runny. I think the recipe was supposed to call for some flour to mix in with the rest of the sauce ingredients to thicken it up or something. It wasn't necessarily creamy, just kinda watered down so it didn't stick to the pasta as much as I'd like. Wife and kid said it was good though.

Don't cook the pasta all the way. Drain it, add the sauce then add a bit of the pasta water. Keep cooking it and adding little bits of pasta water until the pasta is cooked. The starch from the pasta thickens the sauce and the sauce cooks into the pasta.

Thank you for this!! I know I've seen videos of chefs that do this but they never explained why!

All your pasta gets nicely coated and you don't end up with a bunch of undressed pasta with a blob of sauce in the middle!

It's a simple thing but once you do it a few times it's no more difficult than normal and you end up with pasta that is so good!
