I decided to make biscuits & gravy on Saturday. I should've taken a pic. The biscuits weren't from scratch, just the Pillsbury ones. Cooked some sausage up and added the mixture of flower and some milk. Turned out pretty good, although I put too much flower. The gravy was a little too thick IMO. My wife doesn't eat it, and my daughter was reluctant, but rather than pour the sausage gravy onto the biscuits, she decided to dip the biscuit and loved it lol

Yeah it’s a simple limited ingredient thing but it’s so easy to screw up the ratios.
No shame using pillsbury imo.

Stewed beef short ribs similar to osso buco in IP. I can cut the meat with chopsticks. With potatoes, carrots, onions. Served with baguette.

Maybe it would have worked better if you used flour instead of flower.

I attempted to make a cheesy potato soup yesterday. Went to the store, bought everything and threw stuff in the crock pot. Let it cook on low for about 6 hours, potatoes were still hard. Turned it up to high, let it cook for about another 1.5 hours and the potatoes were softer, but still not fully cooked. It was edible and tasted good, but it was weird the taters wouldn't cook. I think next time I may have to cook the potatoes first at least half way then throw everything in the crock pot.

I wouldn't call this a meal more of a snack but either way it tastes really good. Homemade humus with roasted red peppers and toasted pine nuts with hints of coriander and jalapeno.

Wanted to make this for Christmas but needed to do a test run of the recipe beforehand, so I did a practice cook the other day. Braised pork shoulder in a rich tomato sauce includes some sherry and coriander seeds with a side dish of a lemony cous cous - used preserved lemons for the first time. Came out amazing. Great Spanish dish.

You are very correct. I do love most of the people I'm cooking for and the others I like a lot. Definitely put a lot of love into this.

I was thinking of physical ingredients, so let's just say the second most important ingredient there is the beer!

Pork and sauerkraut in the oven for a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch New Year's Day meal.
