I just have a 19" TV. I guess this is as good a place as any to ask a question though. How long til we have Surround sound speakers with Wireless capabilities. I'd like to get a new TV (Looking at a Samsung 50" DLP) a good DVD player and some nice speakers but the wiring looks like it just gets in the way. Sub, Front 2, Back 2 and Front Middle speakers.

Nice system. Your "mid-entry" is probably the most expensive here.

lol, yeah.

Probably close, but unfortunately, I likely have the most $$ sunk into HT listed so far.

I know some folks on AT must have some super-expensive stuff, though.

Audio equipment, sicko. ;)

Yeah yeah. I couldn't handle the awesome power of the Blose, so I downgraded:

Front speakers: Aurum Cantus Music Goddess
Center channel: Aurum Cantus MR-C
Sides & Surrounds: Aurum Cantus Leisure 2 SE
Subwoofer: SVS PB12-Plus/4 (called the B4+ back when I bought it

Pre/Pro: Lexicon MC-8 Balanced
Amplifier: Adcom GFA-7807 7-Channel A/V Amp
Subwoofer Amplifer: Crown K-2 Bridged for Mono

Adcom amp was tested to 600w per channel at 4 ohm (which the speakers are) with all channels driven when fed enough juice. I have a dedicated 30amp circuit just for that amp.

Crown amp is good for 2500w at 4 ohm bridged. Also have a dedicated 30amp circuit just for that amp.

So:

4200w total power for speakers
2500w total power for subwoofer

That's not old. lol

I have a Dynaco SCA-80Q 4-dimensional integrated amplifier.

Circa the '70s.

30Wrms from 20hz to 20,000khz. Blows modern consumer garbage rated at twice the wattage out of the water.

Nice Onkyo system in the living room; Onkyo receiver, and 5.1 matched speakers.
And, my son has a lesser expensive Onkyo system in his bedroom for the x-box, etc.

Infinity Primus 250 Front
Infinity Primus C25 Center
Infinity Primus 150 Rear
Infinity PS-8 Sub (yeah it sucks)
Onkyo TX-SR503 reciever
26" Samsung CRT HDTV (it ownz in terms of color reproduction, response time, and contrast ratio, but when it comes to size, it sucks)

It's not much but this is in my 12x14 bedroom, which has a full size bed, computer desk, dresser, and 2 foot deep closet that takes up a whole wall, so it's pretty good for the size of the room. Me and my dad are seriously thinking about upgrading though. First we want to refinish the basement (it'll cost ~$100,000 lol), and then we want to buy...

Martin Logan Summit Front
Martin Logan Stage Center
Martin Logan Vantage/Vista Rear (can't decide)
Martin Logan Descent Sub
Krell KAV 2250 + 3250 + home Theater Standard 7.1

Our house is 4000sq.ft. to give you an idea of how huge the basement is.

We could probably have this system in another 1-2 years, the basement refinishing on the other hand...

Yep, the Adcom is surprisingly good, even compared with some of the tweaky brands. It's a lot of performance for the money.

Interesting. In a few months, I'm going to replace my Definitive mains with some McIntosh speakers....probably the LS 360's....or I might buy some older XRT 22's....not sure yet.
I'd love to acquire some more McIntosh amplification, but that Adcom sounds interesting.

Seriously. An old client of ours used ti swear by it, but it was small time stuff. The guy had vacum tube this and that, but I guess I didn't have that in mind.

If definitely sold me on the brand. Now hearign that the heavyweights are using them makes me all the more comfortable in purchasing one in the future.
