Blackberry Pearl and love it. Fun to be able to check email from your cell. The company pays for it so I can't complain about the price. It's like 150/mo or something crazy like that, even if I ran my own business I could not justify that.

AT&T 8/10 - I live in the Chicago suburbs so coverage isn't an issue for me so I can't complain. If your coverage is good with AT&T it actually works pretty well surprise, surprise. I am an employee with 50% off my monthly bill so price isn't an issue either, if I wasn't the score would probably drop to 7 or so.

I loved the E71, but the AT&T version is gimped, and Symbian just isnt good enough anymore. Everything else was awesome. That is without a doubt, the toughest non-rugged phone I have ever held.

After reading this thread I have come to the following conclusions:

1. Motorola Razrs truly do suck ass. I went through 3 before I learned my lesson never to buy another one again. Useless.

2. Everyone has a better phone than me. :p

3. I want an iPhone!

(interested reads on those of you with Blackberry Storms, I've heard very mixed reviews about these - either you love it or you hate it, no in-betweens)

Motorola C130, GoPhone (pay as I go). Does exactly what I need a phone to do:

1. Make phone calls
2. Receive phone calls

10/10

Samsung Delve

4/10
entry-level touchscreen phone. UI and usability is, for the most part, godawful, and it lags randomly...even when you *start* to do something. not just in the middle of something, but when you start. ridiculous. the GPS gives "no signal found" about every damn time i really want it (And the GPS is the reason i got this instead of a blackberry, argh).

its like they intentionally designed the phone to be a bitch to use. i loved it at first...then when i started to try and do things with it, i realized how poorly designed the interface and menus are.

US cellular 6/10
good coverage...if youre in their market area. theyre the only provider with towers here, so the minutes and data plan pricing isnt bad, but their data service is *slow*

i cant wait to move to a civilized area and get a nice nokia phone or something. argh.

Sony Erricson W350. It's free, came with the plan. Calls are clear on the AT&T network, but buttons are bit on the small side. I only use it as a telephone though. 7/10.

Still sporting the Curve 8330 on Sprint. Could always be happier but it does what I want it to do. Sprint service for me is excellent. Only thing I don't like about my phone is that the standard battery loses it's juice and charging power not too long after new.

BB Curve 8330 on VZW.

I give it an 8 (GPS is crippled on VZW and I wish it was a tad faster).

Great phone, best I ever had.

I'd love to have a different blackberry like the curve or tour mainly cause I like those keyboards better. I wouldn't mind an iphone but I still hate the keyboard even with the landscape orientation option being available in more places.

blackberry world edition
6/10
cons:
only 1 alarm profile
BB OS is old and still buggy
default browser on there sucks
battery pops out everytime you drop the phone
stock ring tones too soft except for calypso
trackball gets stuck sometimes

pros:
good keyboard but why does $ have it's own key instead of .
good battery life

I think your phone is better than mine. It's like 7 years old. Everyone I know has iPhone or Blackberry. I'm the last holdout. I like the small size of my phone but the battery lasts like 30 minutes. Still on the original battery. I'm debating whether to upgrade to myTouch w/ Google or switch to iPhone AT&T. The only thing that's holding me back is the required mobile Internet fee of $35/ month with these phones. Such ripoff.

Audiovox "Snapper". POS, but it has lasted for 3 years in my truck, toolbox, tool belt & tackle box. It likes to turn itself off & on whenever I'm not using it. But it always comes back on. 7/10 for longevity if nothing else.

I'll probably get something else when it finally dies, but not until it dies.

iphone 3GS - 9.5/10. it does almost everything i want in a phone, and does them WELL. more audio and video codecs should be supported, the "lack" of true multitasking, and battery life could be better, but compared to my old 3G capable phones, it blows them away completely.

gay-t&t - 8/10 actually. since ive had my 3GS, ive had absolutely no dropped calls, and 4-5 bars everywhere i go. however, while its no sprint SERO, -1 is for being a bit expensive (thank god for 20% off) in general, and -1 for not having MMS and tethering at launch. how the hell can almost every other phone on at&t have MMS, and most other smartphones with both MMS and tethering? its unacceptable, quite honestly. at least its coming soon with 3.1 apparently (next week!).

You give it a 9.5 but cite a lot of negatives. Seems like you should give it a lower score.

I had a Samsung SGH-D407 that I got for cheap or free. It was awesome, with excellent battery life, excellent reception, and a very simple and to the point interface. I dropped it a bunch of times and it kept going. However, I accidentally threw it (was in jacket that I sorta flung off) and it died. 8/10

Now I have a Samsung SGH-A707 and it sucks. Has a much better screen, better camera, a microsd card slot, bluetooth, and a music player but the phone seems clunkier and the menus are laggy. I also hate how the new menus are organized. The battery life is much worse too. 2/10

I need to look for a new super-simple and super-solid phone as a replacement.

BlackBerry Storm 9500 - Unlocked - 9/10

Needs the WebKit Browser that has just been bought by RIM, but other than that it's mobile device nirvana.

HTC Apache: 7/10.

Works good, but is starting to get a bit long in the tooth. I _want_ to hold out for a WM7 phone, but may have to give in and get a TP2 if the Apache breaks before that. I was originally going to go for the TP2, too, but the $350 price scared me off. I know some people kinda hate WM, but it's been good to me, and I don't use it for multimedia stuff very often. WM7, if the early leaks are anything to go by, is going to be pretty spectacular. :)

Now that this is in the correct forum:

My overall favorite is the Nokia 3300. Its a dumb looking phone but it worked great. The keypad was easy to use. Audio and reception was pristine. And Nokia was one of the first companies to make full mp3 playback for ringtones a standard feature. It would be a long time before other phones did the same thing, and some still dont allow it.
Battery life was good too.

Current favorite is the G1, but battery life was so horrid and monthly costs so expensive I turned it back in. Smartphones by default should be designed with a high capacity battery in mind. And I wish I could get a very basic voice plan for dirt cheap if I am also getting unlimited data. I didnt make many calls with the G1 but I was using data constantly.

Palm Pre - Sprint

8/10 - The pre is one of the best phones i've had. The multitasking is awesome, the physical keyboard isn't too small for me, web browser is actually usuable, youtube app works great, palm profile (contacts and apps) auto backup is a plus, and the camera takes decent quality photos. I get great service with Sprint in my area, so i never have issues with coverage and the internet is fast. The weak spots on this phone are the battery and additional storage options.

iPhone 3G on AT&T: 9/10 - By far the best phone I have owned; does everything I need and more. Web browsing is quick and simple, love the touchscreen interface.

HTC Dream (HTC G1): 7/10. The battery life should really last 2 days with 2hrs of callings and 2hrs of browsing. It doesn't does. It probably does only 12hrs with 1hr calling and 2hrs of other usage. I'd also like it to be thinner and bigger screen(less bezel). I DO like this phone, but I've very picky. Definitely not the phone to take along if I went camping or hiking unless I got spare batteries.

T-Mobile: 4/10. It's not cheap to get calling plan AND data plan. I probably wouldn't rate any provider much over 5 just because I don't like their pricing. I'm cheap. The charge for paper billing made it lose a pt.
