What is your worst injury?

Like the title says...

I unfortunately dont have any real cool story to this one. In 3rd grade I didnt change shoes after gym (for some reason the gym made tennis shoes really slippery on regular floors), and a girl stepped on my shoelace. Due to the slip-shoes (ala Goonies) I went flying and my head hit the corner of the desk... right next to my eye.

I covered my eye and the teacher rushed over to see what the commotion was about. She looked at me and said "Dont move your hand away from your eye". Well, thats like telling a guy not to look down when he's hanging off a cliff... I did and my hand was covered in blood. I needed 10 stitches.

Like i said, nothing really major.

3rd degree burns all over my feet from being asleep in a structure fire

Half a dozen or so stiches in my forehead when I fell on a escalator edge (sharp one) in Disney World but that was when I was like 5 and just have the scar to remember it by.

I tell everyone that my brother pushed me

When I was 2 I spent 2 weeks in the hospital and was this -> <- to having my leg amputated. Someone ran my legs over while i was sitting on the sidewalk with a bicycle.

After that would have been when I was 9 and being allergic to bees I was stung on my neck.

When I was about 10 I ran into a corner of a flat bed truck and cut my eye open and still have the scar.


That's all I can remember.

Edit: I also fell down an escalator when i was about 5.. my shoe lace got caught and i went down the whole flight.

3 head wounds that should have been stiched, but I elected for the "butterfly" bandage instead--one was from tripping on a sidewalk when running in a halloween costume, one from a bike accident (with a nasty knee cut that went with it), and one from having a rubber golf club smashed over my head.

Other than that I've had a few sprained ankles &amp; fingers and a bad case of shin splints, but no serious injuries.

And these aren't really injuries persay, but I had a hernia operation when I was 3 and a tonsilectomy at 18.

back in my teenage years, i was practicing break dance moves. I attempted to do a 1990 inside my aunt's basement and the top of my foot landed at a corner of the coffee table. My whole weight was on that foot as I was falling from the handstand.... Needless to say, top of the foot split open and started to bleed really dark blood...

Got 14 stitches, wasn't that serious... wasn't even painful either.

3rd grade or so, playing football with my brother. Got tackled from behind with my foot under me that got bend backwards. Popped some major artery and fractured the foot. Went to emergency room. Swelling was about half the size of a decent sized orange. Had an classroom bitch to get papers from the teacher from me for a good month.

Right foot now bigger then the left foot.

EDIT: crab Reminds me of a new case I saw recently. A guy went in to get some titanium stuff taken out of his neck, and the operation paralyzed his vocal cords...

I had my face smashed in with a golf club - apparently people could look down into my sinuses

the club somehow miraculously (sp?) missed my eye, mouth, main nose, and forehead... it landed in the apex between all of them
i was 4 at the time and the force flipped me backwards

Well, I broke my nose playing basketball in my league, and it made it so I can't breathe out of one nostril now.

The other was last year, I was playing soccer and I was running full speed, when my team mate decided to be at the wrong position. We both ran full speed and I jumped for the ball...He kneed me in the back / hip as we were going up. I almost fractured my superior iliac crest, had severe bruising, but technically only dislocated my hip.

Emergency spleenectomy from hockey... blacked out twice on the way to the hospital. A spleenectomy doesn't sound like much but the 6-inch vertical (and still visible) scar down the center of my stomach sure is.

I was on the wrestling team when I was a freshman in high school, and since I had braces at the time, I wore a mouth guard for obvious reasons. Despite that, I got hit in the mouth with someone's knee so hard that it knocked the mouth guard out of my mouth and completely smashed both my upper and lower lips onto my braces. Blood everywhere. Hurt like HELL. Somehow, I ended up not getting stitches (which I still don't understand), and ended up with so much scar tissue in my mouth that I had to have it cut out a couple years ago so that I wouldn't bite the inside of my lip.

Stupid braces.

I got hit by a car when I was about 4, back in 1978. My head shattered a headlight, and I was in a coma for about 2 weeks. Don't remember anything but the hospital I woke up in.

Hit my head on the metal at the edge of our house steps on Easter morning when I was real small, had to get stitches. I think that's the worst. I've snowboarded for about 7 years, going off jumps, surprisingly never hurt a thing (besides bruises).

His father threw his golf club in frustration after landing the ball in water and hit him.

At least he had some aim

Well, I have a cousin (who the family hasn't talk to in years for a bunch of various reasons) . He swung the club backwards and it caught me in the face....
This wasnt a slow gradual backstroke, but he swung it back like a normal person would try to drive it 300+ yards.... I was standing back and to the side, but he still managed to hit me in the face... In fact, everytime he was over to play with me and bro (when my aunt came to visit my mom) one of us managed to get hurt by some circumstance caused by him......

I remember some flashes of the event, mainly crawling in the grass to around the house crying with blood...

In the end I lucked out, b/c there was a plastic sugeon on his way to the airport for vacation when they rolled me in there and just stopped in for some paperwork... Even having all the skin and everything destroyed, no one can even see the scar (and it was pretty nasty from the pics I've seen after surgery (eek!))

When I was young (1st grade) our family recieved an old parachute with a few holes in it (not ragged, but I wouldnt jump out of a plane with it). We have a small playset at our house (swings, slide, and some monkey bars), We put the parachuet over the monkey bars and then climbed on top of it and jumped into the parachute, my sister was doing this and it padded her fall many times. Finnally after being egged into it I followed her example and jumped off the top. Well that was a bad Idea, my arm got caught in one of the holes, and I was going down fast enough that it broke my radius (oddly not the ulna) It hurt like crazy, and the worst part was I missed Duck Tales that day. . took like 2 months to heal.

I have three more that make a close 2nd so Ill share them for you that want to read about pain.

When I was about in the second grade, My brother and I where playing in the mud, We the end of a broken shovel with us and he was digging with it. Well he jabbed the shovel in hard, and found my big toe. It really hurt. I still have my toe and it fully functions, but he cut it down to the bone. I had some wierd tasting antibiotics that I drank for it.

Another time I was playing with two friends near our families old ford van, while I was about to get in the van, one of my friends slammed the door shut, it got my thumb. One friend was in the back seat while the one that slammed the door just looked at me while I was Screaming my head off. The other friend came from the back and opended up the door for me. It blead a little and the nail came off later.

And finally, I was helping my dad put up fence. he would push the posts down with the tractor and I would set the posts in place and move out of the way. Well, I took a step back, but my fingers where resting on the post, he pushed the post down, and my finger hurt very badly. I puked over the new fence and passed out infront of the tractor.

Ok, I have one more but unless you guys really want to hear it Im a little tired now.

no broken bones

was in 1 car wreck, but i had my seat belt on , just got a little bruised

sorta sprained my ankle once or twice
