What is your single most prized material possession?

i'm fond of my harmony 670 remote. plus its easy to carry. but if i had to grab one thing when i left the house when its burning it'd be my wallet. i guess thats mine then.

either my car or my laptop, but my car is never less than ~ 600 ft from my dorm room, so...i'd grab the lappy.

Probably my laptop and it's external hard drive. My life is pretty much on the thing and it cost me a pretty penny.

I don't prize any material possession. All the family photos are distributed throughout the family so I can even lose my NAS without regret. And music and movies can be repurchased.

Some of my grandmother's and my mom's ceramic and porcelain figurines would be missed if they were lost I suppose, but they'd be too hard to round up in a hurry and I'd rather spend the time on the family and the pets.

Actually, I can't think of anything that I would grab that cannot be replaced.

Same here. They're just possessions and that's what I have insurance for.

You don't have anything that's one of a kind or not made any longer?

I forgot to mention...I would probably rip the hard drive out of my computer too, because I have thousands of photographs from family trips and funerals and etc, as well as 20GB of music and just so much more.

Bah... Let it all burn. It's insured!

I'd make a point to save my work laptop, though, since the paperwork to replace it would be a serious pain in the ass.

The cat is hopefully smart enough to escape on his own if I leave the door open on the way out. He follows me around where ever I go anyway!

It's a cat....which means it's probably sitting outside watching the house burn with you inside.

😉

I've got a wooden "treasure box" that was handmade by my grandfather filled with old knives and childhood memories that would be just before my laptop on it's way out. The laptop has a lot of pictures and the like that are irreplaceable. My wife has a wooden jewelry chest that was also handmade by my grandfather that she would hopefully be carrying. The entertainment center is all insured so I'd let it burn (yes, even the Studio 40s). Honestly I don't understand why people would save semi-easily replaceable or still available items.

Maybe 'cause some of us cannot replace material stuff so easily. Also, some items might have some history behind them, which makes them irreplaceable.

The oldest thing I own is my LCD EX-350 guitar, so I would like to keep that with me since it has kept me company in the good, and bad times of my life. I would also save my external HD which holds all of my pictures, music and other information.
