Probably my bookcase. It would be awkward but I think I could carry it at least out the front door and out a ways.

Actually, I can't think of anything that I would grab that cannot be replaced.

Same here. They're just possessions and that's what I have insurance for.

You don't have anything that's one of a kind or not made any longer?

I'm part of the Walmart generation. I don't have anything in my house worth more than $1.99.

(Excluding living things) I would be willing to lose anything that is insured (house, car, stuff in house). So, for me it would be all our pictures and my computer disks (programs and backups).

We just moved, so I got rid of a lot of crap, even stuff I thought had too much sentimental value to throw out. When I learned how much it would cost to move everything (twice - long story), I got cut-throat on throwing stuff out.

BTW, this is a R

I would have to say my Mazda6i!........ for without it, I would'nt have any of the other items.......... House, decent home theatre system, 2 computers, 7 cats, and Beer........ and a wife that loves me 😉

Simple answer. I could've gone on and made a big list but hey, It's my livelyhood.
Zoom Zoom!

my hand made Eternal Flame. I keep it burning all the time right next to my firewood collection--

wait a second... how did you say this fire started again?

Eternal Flame, how could you!??

Most people don't have anything like that.

My speakers. But I doubt I could grab a bunch of Paradigms and run out the door if there was a fire.

LOL! I can't even carry mine. I'd find a way though.

usually called insurance.

Since pets/wife were excluded...probably my PC. Still in real life, I'd grab just my pets...make sure anyone else is out of the house if someone was staying with me.

It wouldn't be my most prized possession, but if I could save that stuff; my house wouldn't be burning too badly.

Those of you with firearms. Please grab the ammo or warn the rescuers/people around the get back. You should have it in a firesafe anyway, but many don't...I have been to people's homes where you'd just see a box of them on a shelf.

I have so much ammo in my house that it would take 7 giant liberty safes to hold it all. All of it is going to stay in my basement, where I also keep the re-loading components.

My most valuable item is a firearm, which I inherited from my great-grandfather. He bought it in 1915 to go on an African hunt, and it has been in the family ever since. It is a Holland & Holland double rifle, in .375 H&H. It is more valuable than my house is.

Too much ammo to keep in safes....hell I have too many guns to keep in safes.

Someday I'll buy a house and build a vault into the basement for everything.

Most people don't have anything like that.

Somehow I doubt that.

If pets don't count (4 cockatiels), then my external hard drive, which backs up all the PC's in the house.

What kind do you have?

<---- Studio 60's

Nothing special. I'm only 19 with a part time job, so I couldn't afford any better. So I've got some 7's, 3SE's, and a CC170.

LOL @ "Put ammo in safe"

Why? You think it will shoot? LOL. Toss a handful of ammo in fire and watch what happens. The bullets aren't going anywhere far or fast - there is no barrel to make ALL of the gas from "gunpoweder" push the bullet. Maybe it will fly couple feet, but that's it.

Ammo isn't my worry if the house is on the fire.

I've got a wooden "treasure box" that was handmade by my grandfather filled with old knives and childhood memories that would be just before my laptop on it's way out. The laptop has a lot of pictures and the like that are irreplaceable. My wife has a wooden jewelry chest that was also handmade by my grandfather that she would hopefully be carrying. The entertainment center is all insured so I'd let it burn (yes, even the Studio 40s). Honestly I don't understand why people would save semi-easily replaceable or still available items.

There are things on my hard drive that are not replaceable. All my photos, documents, and other important things. Even though the computer itself is replaceable, the stuff on it is not.
