"10". ;) It's a window unit. Which won't turn on if the outdoor temperature falls into the 50s. I can't sleep if the temperature is over 74°F. So I turn it on at night, let the temperature go down to around 70°F, and hope it doesn't rebound too much.
Same here.

75 during the day, 70 at night. With my Rack peeking at about 900 Watts, combined with the 95 degree temps and our crappy apartment AC, about 78-79 is the best it can manage running non-stop during the day.

What's your "Rack" working on?

Two story house with a Nest that's located upstairs and a secondary temp sensor downstairs. I set it so it runs off downstairs during the day, which is usually about 5 degrees cooler and use the upstairs sensor at night.

It basically only ever runs at night and I set it to 74. For some reason even with the windows open, at night upstairs can rise to 78-80.

Couple of game servers for various coworker groups, vSphere Pod for usual infrastructure, Hyper-V SDS Lab for 2 node operation testing, friend has his 1080 in a pod for some inference work he's using for his Thesis (it's all the rage right now), and various tiers of Storage (All-Flash for the Pods, Bulk for file storage).

The network setup is probably as bad as the pods. The Quanta 10gb switches (mandatory to do the Hyper-Converged pods) are not efficient at all, and neither is the 3750-E stack used for the gigabit connectivity.

When you put it all in, peeking at 900 watts isn't all that bad. There's also the inefficiencies on the whole rack from going through the Online Eaton UPS due to the double conversion (I think somewhere on the power curve it peaks at 95% conversion efficiency).

69 deg F. And I don't run it constantly. I'll let it run for a little bit and cool the place down and then I'll shut it off for quite a while.

Dang man, must be hot in some places you guys live. Like setting it at 76 would just be the same as not setting it at all and letting the apartment get warm naturally. It would get about that hot in there with the outside temp around 90, which it has been for several days. Gonna be in the lower 80s starting today though, thankfully.
Our average for June 1st is 75. It's been in the high 90s, with records being set each day for last Thursday through Monday, and probably going to do so again today.

Set to 75 on main level. It drops to 72 on upstairs unit overnight. We've been high 80's into the low 90's most of May. I run it just to take the edge off of humidity and heat. My bills aren't too bad. Under $100 a month for close to 4000 conditioned sq/ft.

Another 78 here. Later in the summer we will set to 80 if it's super hot out.

78 day, 77 night. If I leave it at 78 I sweat in bed. Funny how 1 degree will make big difference.

I typically set the ac to 80, sometimes ~82 when I leave for the day. That's usually pretty good when combined with my ceiling fans, but sometimes I'm just HOT. I'll then bump it down to 78/79, and it feels luxurious. Weird. Same with winter. I keep it set to 56, but I sometimes feel chilled, and I'll move it up to 58(if I don't want to make a fire), and it's really warm.

Damn I can't imagine it being 77 in the house at night. Actually one thing I want to do eventually is add an outside intake on my furnace with a damper, and an attic exhaust. When I turn on the AC, if the outside temp is say say, 10 degrees lower than indoors, it would open both dampers and just use outside air. When it equalizes the dampers would close and the AC would kick on. Basically a DIY economizer. Could pretty much run on just economizer mode at night. Unless we're getting a heatwave it's rare that it will be warmer than 70 outside at night here.

You really do get used to it. Nobody hates heat more than me, but after working outside all day, just about anything is better. I probably wouldn't use ac at all if it weren't so humid here.

I guess I can see that, when I was working outside in +30's and got to my house it felt really cold but it was like 22C, and it was like 25C in my office. It still felt hot but not as bad as it would if I was not outside. Today it's like 5C outside, if it was not wet it would be great weather to work outside. Pretty much went from one extreme to the other. We're actually under a frost advisory right now lol. This is why I don't do outdoor gardens, weather is too unpredictable.

wtf you guys setting it at 78. It's downright baking at 78 in my house. I guess the thermostat is further away from the hotter temp.

Funny thing is when I'm at a hotel I set it to 68 and I'm still hot in bed. Probably cause the places I stay at have way better quality sheets lol.

Basement is nice, usually around 68 or so when the oven is 78. I stay underground as much as possible.

When it is 103 outside with a heat index over 110 then 78 with much lower humidity feels pretty damn good. That is our weather tomorrow. Today it is a balmy 98 with a heat index of 104.

Are you Obese or something? Why do you need to temp set that low?

76 day 70 night. Last week with temps in the upper 90's my air did not run until 6 PM or so
