This just baffles me. When I was in school I couldn't of dreamed of physically attacking a school bus driver or a teacher. The thought would never have crossed my mind. What has changed that this is happening and seemingly from the story happening too often.

February 4, 2002 -- It can be one of the most frustrating, dangerous jobs in metro Atlanta: public school bus drivers.
On a daily basis they face not only the hazards of the highway, but the taunting, the threats, even attacks from some of the children who ride their buses.
This special assignment report begins with the latest on veteran Fulton County bus driver Lynda Clanton. She's still recovering from a savage confrontation with a child on her bus three months ago.
"He was punching me in the face and head," she recalls. "His knee was hitting me in the chest and the stomach. When I looked up, that's when he bit me."
Now 17 stitches later, after a massive infection, and several surgeries, Clanton remains unable to go back to work.

The drivers that spoke to us said they felt like they were under siege, not only from some of the children but from parents and the school administrations themselves.
"The kids would laugh at you," said Deborah Warren. "Go ahead and write me up. They aren't going to do anything to me," she said is the attitude of many students.
"There is no fear."
