Just about completed with going live on my project. Last 14 days have been hell, working 12+ hours a day. I can finally go out tonight and do my Christmas shopping.

I bailed at 3pm today because no managers were around, and 90% of my office bailed already. Only one left was the antisocial guy who doesn't know how to "interpret" rules.

Most of the shop is out on an installation tomorrow. I will take it slow and easy unless I get sent out. Really need the week off next week to unwind and get well (from the pneumonia).

Boss sent some home as early as 9:00am this morning. I was sent home at noon (6 hours into day) with remaining pay. Starting my 9 day off tour tomorrow!

I left the office a little after 2:00 p.m. The traffic was TERRIBLE.

It turned out there was a MAJOR accident at the interchange from the 405 North to the 101 West, closing it for some time. I saw at least three vehicles, all severely damage. Oddly, one was missing all for wheels!

The accident must have been there for a while because there were no ambulances and the tow truck guys and CHP did not seem to be in a hurry.

Everyone was funneled to the 101 East (my direction), so it took me forever to get home.

Fairly normal day. Spent the first half of the day doing repairs. Second half securing the site for the long weekend. Construction sites get raped over a holiday. The thieves know were gone and not likely to show up unexpected. Lost a monitor and some two way radios out of a control room over Thanksgiving.

What do you do?

Police Officer. We work 6 on, then 4 off. Rotate from Days (0630-1600), evenings (1430-2100), to nights (2130-0700) each shift. Cant ever get on a good sleeping schedule, but if you take one shift off (6 days) you get two weeks off, so thats good.

Was pretty slow, other than a few domestics last night, and noise complaints.

Going to be a great week next week... Back to work Wednesday, office will be empty as everyone took 3 days vacation to get a "free" 10 day vacation.
