So they busted a union, moved the police work to a larger organization, and still has an amazingly high rate of crime. If you double your police force, you would think that crime rates should go down.

And they are..

I don't want to shit on your point because it is true there is blame on both sides of the aisle but your main architec was a republican.

Why not use nixon as a more impactful and recent example, although also a republican.
exactly now Nixon is well Nixon!

Maybe instead of being a snotty shithead posting dictionary definitions, you could dig into the activist roots of the movement you're pretending to care about, and decide if you agree or disagree with their vision of what needs to be changed and if the police can be reformed or not.

Or, you know, just keep waiving the flag for idiot liberals everywhere.
Jesus Loves you Blackjack200!!

Hmm, maybe because they've been trying to reform the police for 30 years and it's never worked? Could that be why no one wants reform anymore?

It's amazing that liberals rail for unions in almost every line of work.... except police.

Except most of us are not opposed to the existence of police unions (jediyoda not withstanding). We're opposed to police unions having the power to make it difficult to impossible to fire police for misconduct, and worse still, making it harder to prosecute them for crimes. We're talking about things like provisions in their collective bargaining agreement stating that a cop can't be taken into custody until 5 days after the crime he is suspected of was committed, allowing him to go home and possibly destroy evidence.

Allowing police to get away with criminal behavior is an issue of special importance for public safety and for public confidence in law enforcement. This is not a founding principle of unionization. I don't mind the police having a union to fight for higher wages and better working conditions, but this power to interfere with police accountability must be curbed.

I agree with what woolf9998 is saying!
I just cannot wrap my head around how to accomplish this without dibanding Police unions!
This is well said and i concur 100% -- I don't mind the police having a union to fight for higher wages and better working conditions, but this power to interfere with police accountability must be curbed.

I can tell you how it can be done. You pass laws which makes certain kinds of terms in collective bargaining agreements illegal. There are all sorts of laws which already do this in respect to ordinary contracts. They say if this term appears in a contract, it is not an enforceable contract provision.

So pass a law which says that any provisions in a collective bargaining agreement which give police different or superior rights to ordinary citizens in relation to being a criminal suspect are illegal, unenforceable and abolished.

Why would anyone support unions that actively protects murderers and people who commit brutal acts of violence just because they can? Are you insane?

I've thought about suggesting that the FBI investigate all police union leaders to make sure they didn't break the law when they were cops. But that sounds dangerously J. Edgar Hoover-ish. :(

News says a bunch of officers in Minneapolis have quit, as a form of protest to how they're being treated.
I didnt know it but they abandoned one of their precincts and somebody set it on fire. Not sure if its Minneapolis residents or people traveling from elsewhere.

Of course! Police don`t want to be held accountable for their actions!
The ones that quit are most likely the bad apples....

At 14:00 min

Warning: I don't know anything abut this channel and just found it looking for footage of CHAZ. I also have not not even listened to the whole video yet. I'm just lazy, type slow and he stated my thoughts on this topic.

No people are just sick of your childish ways that were supposed to Google shit for you, and then cite our sources like this is an 8th grade research paper.

Try growing up instead of acting like a child.

So obviously I had looked up the info before posting. Is that not clear?

With that said, your post lacks logic.
