My computer. If I simply had not bought that damned thing from my neighbor, then my life would have been soooo much different for the better. :| I wish I could go back and change it.

Probably my 1998 Honda Accord EX V-6. Another compelling candidate was my Sampson Stratics titanium bicycle bottom bracket, which snapped on a high-speed descent in Marin County, CA, leading to a dislocated shoulder.

Panasonic Digital Camera/MP3 Player for $109

Crappy pictures, crappy headphones, crappy memory card 16 meg, too big to carry as a mp3 player too shi**y of a camera to ever use. If you look at something and take a picture, it comes out uncentered, you have to aim to the left. 640x480 resolution.....etc

Computer-wise, I don't ever remember buying anything that I thought was a POS. I got a couple things for a good deal that really sucked, but nothing I can really remember that was an utter POS.

my Logitech cordless keyboard and mouse was a very large POS but it wasn't really total sh1t.. i just didn't like it at all :p that's the only thing I can think of.

My parent bought a Dodge Aries (k-car) in the 80's that was the biggest pile I've even seen. It rattled like crazy, was sooooo slow, and died completely at 75K.

That's too bad those are usually some of the most reliable cars you will ever find...

I've seen some with well over 350,000 kms that just refuse to die.. you got unlucky.

yes, they are slow. :)

1. A 1987 Ford Taurus. It made it 187 miles, then the transmission exploded, setting the car on fire and stranding me on the side of I-79 at 1am in a snowstorm. Got my money back on it, though.

2. MSI K7T Pro2. Biggest computer hardware POS I ever bought, worse than the Packard Hell computer I talked my mother into buying a few years ago (at least the Packard Hell is still working).

3. 17" Mag monitor. Less than 2 years old, and the screen is so blurry that I don't notice a difference if I take my glassess off.

Ditto to that. Its novelty wore off in about a month and I realized I don't need to carry around a damn computer everywhere I go. Luckily I recouped a good portion of the $$$ on FS/FT.

Same here.

Anyone who owned a Sega Genesis knows the biggest POS they ever purchased was an accessory to that system.

The Sega Activator - an octagonal floor device that allows a person to use their arms and legs to control the character instead of their thumbs. Seen about halfway down the page here.

I don't remember how old I was when I asked for this thing for christmas, but I was one heck of a sucker. you had to put the thing together every time you wanted to use it because it was too big just to leave laying around. it never did work correctly... your character basically sat in one place, randomly throwing a kick or a punch, never really coinciding with yours. you had to use it in a room with nothing on the ceiling or it went nuts - fans really screwed it up. i think the thing used to cost damn near $100 when I got it. fortunately years down the line I was able to get $70 for it out of a pawnshop owner when I sold all of my genesis stuff to buy a Playstation.

I had the Menacer too... also seen on that page. Quite possibly the worst light gun ever made. It had a pretty cool design (or so I thought when I was 12), but it didnt shoot anywhere near where you aimed, no matter how many times you calibrated it. It was cordless and the batteries died frequently.

Is it any wonder why Sega isn't in the console race any more?

There was a lot.

And it was big.

About 12 years ago I bought stock in a Stephen Bochco show called "Cop Rock" that I was sure was going to be a hit. Who would've thought that a musical drama about cops wouldn't be successful?

After the new engine was installed, it was good for about 2 days and the problem started again. basically an internal back fire that nobody could figure out. It would happen when ever the engine was under stress like passing a car or going up hill. it would back fire like a machine gun POP POP POP POP POP and have now power at all. GM bought the car back under the Lemon Law the AAFES new car sales had.

Damn, I just bought a 1990 Grand Am.

Worst purchase of my life was my 72-port SynOptics hub. $5 on eBay, $50 to ship it. Broke in 2 days/

Amen to that one, shouldn't be called an operating system at all, should be called a peeve u off system!!!!!!

I'll third that! The only reason why I am allowing it to reside on my machine is that Win2k does not like X-Wing Alliance.

I've had my share of those too, have had 4 IBM hd's and until now three of 'em has been rma'ed and the fourth is beginning to sound and act weird sometimes :Q.
First a chip suddenly burned on a 20Gb 34Gxp, then half a year later a 40Gb 60Gxp died (something with the head I think), then a 60Gb 60Gxp (same thing as the other 60Gxp) which is currently rma'ed and then there's the last 40Gb 60Gxp which is acting strange now and then (again the same problem I think). Needless to say, I'm not gonna buy IBM hd's again.

ECS K7S5A

Biggest POS Ever in the computer market. I like my Compaq 300mhz POS better than this board. I've replaced with a very nice Soltek SL-75DRV5 :)

Jensen Speakers
Sony Head Units (2 of them)
Verizon Wireless Cell Phone (finally went digital, only took them about 5 years here)

I'm sure glad I never bought a Ford though, I feel for you people.

I know someone who bought a brand new Ford Windstar, and it broke down when they were driving it home.
