I picked this game up a while back and bought into the hype of how its the coolest thing. played it for a few days and i ended up putting it on FS/T and ended trading it for a USB floppy drive. i really couldn't get into it at all 🙁

I don't think it's that fun, compared to DDR, which has a much better music selection and it's more goofy. maybe im biased because I play real guitar? (im by no means good though)
 
No matter what so-called "gamers" tell you, it is the very DEFINITION of a "casual game" (one with appeal that goes far beyond the typical "core gamer"). Because of this, you hear a lot more people praising it who have no frame of reference. Regardless, the game is still fun even for many hard-core gamers.

Get a Wii. Chicks love those things. Get some fun, simple games that involve them hopping up and down.

i got a wii and its much more fun then guitar hero and its more appealing to the fairer sex as well, as well as DDR

for hardcore gaming, i still got a PC and play war3 and pwn noobz

QFT. It's fun to play with friends and just jump around with those plastic guitars. I play real guitar too and I'm terrible at GH, but it's still kinda fun.
 
Guitar Freaks was an incredibly fun arcade game out way before any of these console versions. I've had fun with GH's and RB's but its more just if I have friends over.

I enjoy it when you've got a group of people together and you're hammered. Not something I would buy personally, but I enjoy it at parties.

I know more girls who play guitar/hero rockband than I do guys.

The person I know who is absofuckinglutely amazing at it is my ex-gf.
my soon to be gf also kicks my ass.
and the girl who was too christian to be my gf is not bad(and too immature trying to act like she is more mature than everyone else.

All of my guy friends who play guitar hero/rock band (except the ones I met playing rock band at parties) started playing after I did, and none care for it all that much. Actually there is one I know who can kick my ass, but he plays because of my ex-gf...
 
Guitar hero/rockband are definitely overrated. Guitar hero is funner to play by yourself IMO because they extend all the songs to about 7 mins long and you have to a wait a long arse time between turns if you're playing with a couple others. Rock band you can all play at the same time (for $170...) but it's still pretty lame. The guitar the comes with rockband is awful in my opinion.

You're right, the christian girl also wants to be with girls, not guys 🙁
and I have another guy friend who had GH2 before I started playing, but he's spent maybe 5 hours total playing so I don't really count him... he doesn't give a shit about the game. He has GH3 now and Rockband, yet I'd say his total play time for all 3 is 5 hours.

Oh and my ex-gf I mentioned never wanted to label it, so we were just friends with benefits and I fucked the shit out of her... we worked together so it was best to keep things fun without much emotion. so not technically my "ex-gf" She's a hardcore /b/tard too...

But see, that's just more complicated to explain.
