What is taking the V5 6000 so long?

Not that I could afford or even want to buy it but I wonder what is taking so long. It is not like it's a new chip, 4 damn VSA-100's, 128mb memory, and it's own power supply :). The technology seems there or are they still having chip shortage problems and using most available chips for the V5 5500?

I think they still are having the chip shortages from TSCM(lol I think that's it). Not sure though.

Yes, where are they indeed? They just released the Voodoo4. Since the Voodoo5-6000 is the only one left I assume it will be next. The question is "when". Hopefully they drop the price to make up for the delay. :)

Who cares? I am sick of NVidia's endless beta drivers. I, for one, am jumping back onto the 3dfx bandwagon.

It has nothing to do with chip shortages. It has to do with stability. Should be done very very soon though

Hmmm that's a great opinion then you can have all the troubles with 3DFx's drivers even not working or not just tweaked at all. Do you really believe that 3Dfx is make flawless drivers?. Don't tell me that you can be that ignorant. No matter what you buy you'll have the same problems or get more problems.

AoD ;)

Oh look guys, an NVidia follower...

See how he gets angry so easily and defends his little card by hissing and spitting.

OK, folks let's move along the next exhibit...

What's wrong with the beta drivers that are released pretty rapidly? I don't mind updating every couple of weeks. At least they fix problems (and issues that creep up with new chipsets) relatively quickly instead of letting them fester. And you can't forget their solid Win2k support.

In fact, none of you can really say anything about their drivers b/c they do have the best drivers for just about any platform: Win9x/WinMe/WinNT/Win2k/Linux

The V5 6000 has to be delayed long enough so it will be obselete when it comes out. This is obviously a 3dfx standard. Haven't you been paying attention????:)

With all due respect, bandwagons are for people who like to mask the truth with blind ignorance.

Have a nice day!

While other drivers remain buggy, Nvidias keep getting faster and more stable.
So, if Intel and AMD keep making better chips, what are you going to do?
.....jump on the APPLE bandwagon?

Wow this place is full of 'em.

Oh, that's right I'm at Anand's. Everyone here uses NVidia cards (along with Promise RAID controllers and IBM 75 GXP hard drives).

I forgot that anyone deviating from the socially accepted hardware will be flamed, ridiculed, and called names.

It's too bad that a couple people can't talk about 3dfx around here without you NVidia lovers turning everything into a 3dfx vs. NVidia war. How about you guys STFU!

No one is turning this into a war...if I'm not mistaken, you're the one that started it with your childish behavior:

Ben: you are an idiot, and here's why...

your last post:

your first post:

<< Who cares? I am sick of NVidia's endless beta drivers. I, for one, am jumping back onto the 3dfx bandwagon >>

what does that mean? You and you alone instigated the war and now you are trying to pass the blame on someone else (i guess nvidia fans). Grow up dude, and STFU.

Actually, if you OPENED YOUR EYES, YOU WOULD SEE THAT Soccerman WAS THE FIRST NVidia idiot to spout his mouth off. My post was in response to his.

...and I'm ignorant?

Um, yes you are ignorant. Soccerman is A) not an nVidiot, and B) if anything his comment was a rip on nVidia for not getting their product out in a timely fashion.

Soccerman simply asked a question that seemed reasonable since both cards will be matched against each other when they are released. He made no references to 3dfx, nor did he in any way indicate that nvidia products are superior to 3dfx's. It was your rather childlish set of posts that started this mess.

My response to Soccerman's post was appropriate. All I did was state my opinion and what I planned to do. No big deal.

Then I get 2 other followers calling me names and disputing my claims (which just makes them look dumb because they couldn't possibly know what configuration I have and what problems I have had).

Now I'm childish, and an idiot, and ignorant, etc. That's funny, I never called anyone names until you did. Who's the childish one?

What's the deal? Do you guys have an emergency e-mail system? If someone attacks one NVidia lover then you all come to the rescue?
