I wasn't going to bother with this because you guys will just try and turn around everything I say against me. But I'm bored, so what the heck.
Since no one can read, lets recap the order of events:
First, let's read the title "What is taking the V5 6000 so long?". A good question. I came in the thread to respond and I do so. While I'm at it, I respond to soccerman's post. I didn't flame anyone. I didn't call anyone names. I don't really care at this point whether his post is sarcastic or not. I don't have time to reshearch his posts on this forum and find out if he's pro/anti NVidia.
Then, I get flamed from AOD. That's fine if he thinks that 3dfx drivers are just as buggy. But he feels the need to call me ignorant, and there's the problem. I respond appropriately.
Then we hear from NFS4. A good post, athough I disagree with him. He does seem loyal to NVidia and rather than waste my time trying to explain my opinion, I respond with a smartass remark.
Then he responds with a smartass remark. Fine. Turnabout is fair play. I can live with that.
Then I get flamed from numerous people who just want to get in on the action.
Then, probably the most amazing part, I get blamed for everything.
Gimme a break. I'm sorry to insult your little video card. Maybe I'm tired of hearing how great NVidia is, was, will be. I've had a V6800 for over 6 months in my personal machine at home. I've dealt with the driver problems under Windows NT and Windows 2000 all this time. If you haven't had problems, then that's good. I have. So don't tell me how great the drivers are. Every new set of drivers has replaced old problems with new ones. The only drivers I was happy with were the 5.32. Unfortunately I upgraded to the 6-series driver hoping to get better performance. All I got was more problems.
I CHOOSE to buy 3dfx next time.
